[/ That is so funny. Actually something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. We have the exact type of garbage can. Our home is on top of a mountain on a very open cleared area and it can get extremely windy. I was bringing in the empty garbage can and for some reason I didn't close the lid. It was tilted and a strong gust of wind got inside of the can. Instead of letting go, I held on for dear life. I flew with the can, backwards down the driveway, across the street until I hit my neighbors mail box. I slithered down the post. When I got my wits about me all I could think of was that I hoped the neighbors didn't see me. I would have been the laughing stock of the neighborhood. No damage was done to me or the can. Today I'm sure I would need the jaws of life to remove me from around the post.
Oh no, Ruth! You're lucky you weren't seriously hurt. Maybe there should be warning labels on those things! I actually had a trash can event myself a couple years back. During the summer, I wanted to wash it out so I filled it with a little water and some Mr Clean or some smell good cleaner. Walked it out to the bottom of the back yard to empty it, slid and almost fell inside of it. I jumped up, looked around to see if anyone saw me, didn't see anyone.
