Actress Lee Remini's Series On Scientology. Cult, Religion and/or Why?

Saw a few episodes and thought it all to be pretty scary. Seems more like a cult then a religion to me.

I was a huge fan of hers from King of Queens, excellent actress, comedienne, sexy. Love that show with Kevin James.

Since then she has done almost nothing with her career-- a failed sitcom and a brief stint on The Talk.

Now she is boring us with scientology, which is notorious for being a scam and sham religion. For the gullible and naive.

I suppose she is unsophisticated and uneducated. I wish she would stop. She is giving this pseudo psych. "religion" more
publicity than it deserves. Some people will be attracted to it as an escape from their problems even or because of her criticism.

My sense is that Leah craves the publicity and profit from all this because as I said, her career is going nowhere, sadly, and at 46
there's little hope it will be recharged.

Victor, why are you dissing someone who is trying to warn away the gullible from an organization that would prey on them and their wallets? And considering the emotional abuses that the group apparently inflicts on the people they get their claws into, I would have thought that the compassionate and caring thing to do would be to support a whistleblower instead of joining in on the abuse and attempts to 'disconnect' her from the public.

I have not seen her series. I don't know the word dissing.

I do support her if she is whistleblowing scientology.and helping others. Please excuse me if I misunderstood her intentions.

Most people do know know what scientology is anyway.

That is the point, she is trying to educate people. She was involved at a very young age. Some of their communities are gated with security watching! The father got out because they had a property across the street that contained refrigerators and he would make runs over there daily. One day he grabbed his wife and after passing through the gate, floored it and escaped. What kind of religion prevents a person from leaving at will?

Yes there could be a publicity angle to this but it is very revealing. I've seen or heard numerous stories over the years about the abuses and goings on of scientology. Rather than a single news story which many do not pay attention to this format of a documentary series is perfect and gives more detail and puts it into perspective of family life in particular. Also over time the gravity of the situation will sink in. A & E brought issues like hoarding to the forefront ironically along with storage unit use/abuse with a reality/documentary type format.

To show how intense this is for many A&E and the producers have had to put a disclaimer frequently before and after each/one segment which shows how aggressive their lawyers are. I've never seen so many disclaimers. This is more than Reimi crying for attention.
