Hello from warm Florida - need to get back in the world. I am a widow of 3 months

I worked in a hospital for 37 year, the last 17 in Continuing Medical Education. I met many interesting people. For the past two years I cared for my cancer stricken husband of 44 years. Our whole life centered around his care. I feel like I hardly know how to interact with the outside world. I have lots of interests and love animals. I grew up in New Jersey but have lived in Florida since 1975. I can tell you warm is better

Thanks for the warm welcome. I was kind of numb through the holidays but I am trying to get out of the house more. I am fortunate to still be in good health except for some high blood pressure. Will have to visit the doctor soon - yuck. After working for them for years I don't enjoy seeing them professionally. Hope all of you survived the holidays so far and are feeling great.

I know Mt. Dora well. I have always wanted to visit Hawaii but scared to death to fly. Have waited years for a tramp steamer heading that way. No luck. Thank you for welcoming me to the site. I think I will enjoy spending time with people in my age group.

Hi Bobbi and welcome ~ I just joined the forum, too. My sympathies to you for your loss. I also am a widow and was caregiver for my husband who had cancer and it really is a terribly sad and devastating experience. Hang in there.
