Do you use the proper size glass when serving wine?

You know, large wine glass for reds, smaller ones for white. Neither tastes very good from a paper cup.

Absolutely. I have such a beautiful array of etched glass, wine glasses. They make the wine more inviting to drink. How about you?

I don't serve wine that often, and when I do it's usually red. I have some regular wine glasses that I use and normally fill it a little over a half and if they want more they can help themselves. Never have served wine in a paper or plastic cup, except maybe if I was having a picnic on the grass.

I was given a set of crystal wine glasses (12-large red, 12-small red and 12-small white) when I got married. I don't drink wine (or any alcohol) but my wino friends like the style glasses I have. Now milk or Almond milk is a different story, I can drink you under the table!! :drinking:

Years ago,when I occasionally served wine with dinner for company I had just regular size wine glasses. Today,we all prefer a tall glass of perfectly brewed ice tea with lemon. No drinkers among us,not even beer.

I have both and use them accordingly; frankly I can't tell the difference, but there
are members of my family who think they can. I like the new stemless glasses,
but I have enough glasses to last me my life time, so shan't get any new ones.

If I am pouring for guests then yes,I use a proper glass. If I`m drinking my red wine at home with just us,my favorite glass is a plastic "crystal cut" "glass. 14 oz. Which they are apparently discontinuing. I do have a reason for this-I am famous for knocking over stemmed wine glasses lol. But in a restaurant,I want my red wine to be served in a proper glass. It DOES make a difference!

When we were married we received a set of six crystal wine glasses (along with matching champagne, cordial and water glasses). My nightly serving of red wine always goes into one of these simple, but elegant glasses. I don't have two different sizes, but we seldom entertain and there's no need for more than the six we have.

Depends on my mood. If I'm sitting around in my pj's......I'll drink wine out of an OJ glass. My dog doesn't really care. With friends, I use the proper glass.

I prefer my wine in a crystal wine glass about half full. Prefer a good white with chicken and fish but if I only have red, then that's good too altho I prefer red with a good steak.

Well I don't drink wine but to answer when served here we used everything from a tin can to straight from the bottle we are not city folk here. Sunday at the neighborhood meal I sometimes attend a lady was drinking wine straight from the bottle, no one ever gave it a second thought.

Maybe it's just me, but I think wine tastes better when it is served in a proper glass. You get the aroma of the wine at the same time you are drinking it.

A coffee cup just doesn't cut it for me.
