This weekend 1991 BIG ice Storm in Rochester, NY

Tonight is the anniversary of the start of a huge ice storm we had here in Western NY in 1991. Started on the night of the 3rd of March and went through the 4th. Most of the county lost power, some for up to two weeks. Power lines down, trees uprooted, and mass confusion and damage. I was without power for about a week. Here is a link to a slide show.

Wow Marie, being without power for a week in winter would be tough. We'd be okay, but it would be challenging.

Wow Marie, being without power for a week in winter would be tough. We'd be okay, but it would be challenging.

Luckily, being March, there was some milder weather. 40's and 50's. Not a resort, but not end of world.
