I remember waking up on the mornings at my grandparents house in Whitmire SC to the smell, of breakfast cooking and hearing the sound of her dog penny feet scurry across the floor in a hurry to find where the smell of food was coming from .Often in the summer we would be awoken by our grandmother telling us to get dressed that we were going on a trip[ but not telling us where to .We were told along the way to look for sighns of where we were going ,and most of the time we figured it out , usually to Carowinds are folly Beach .When my grandparents passed away the flag in the town flew in half staff in honor of them because my grandparents always helped the town and all of there neighbors and Friends.if you needed some thing they would always help you the best that they could, weither it be food for the family are shoes for the kids for school, are a tractor to plow your frilds for a garden they always did what they could to help there fellow neighbor are friends and family. I was blessed with kind loving grandparents on both sides of the family.Christmas was always fun .My grandfather kept piggy banks filled up with coins around the house and at Christmas time he would have us each take a guess at how much money was in them and whoever got the closest to guessing the amount got all the coins inside .And it would be three hundred are more some times in the piggy banks. They had a farm with horses, cows, chickens ,goats even a pet squerrel.lolSo many special memories there .There all gone now but the sweet memories will forever live in my heart and mind till I join them someday .My grandmother before she passed told my mother and I that she kept hearing late at night the most beautiful music she ever heard being played in her room .None of us ever knew where the music could of come from are heard it ourselves but I think it was God's way of sending her home to comfort is and her . I guess I'll wait around and see if I hear that sweet music when it's my time to go ..Written with love for my grandparents Cecil Daniel and Margret ..
