So $#@&% angry at the weather

Our community-wide garage sale was this weekend. It rained all day Friday, so I was hindered in getting set up. Saturday started off cool and showery, but cleared off mid-morning, so I scrambled to get set up. At 4 pm, planning on continuing my sale to today, I covered the tables that were outdoors with plastic.

During the night it rained again and there must have been holes I didn't notice in one of the plastic covers, because everything under it was wet including the tablecloths and dishes were filled with water. The sun peeked out about 9 am so I put out my sign. Fifteen minutes later it started raining. I again covered the tables seeing it was very light and I hoped it might let up. It just continued to rain with increasing vigor, so I gave up, took down my sign and started packing it in. As soon as I finished shutting down, the sun came out and hasn't rained a drop since. Grrrrrrr.

Sorry about your garage sale. It never fails does it. We are having cold, damp, rainy weather here in New Jersey also. This is my own fault, but I planted my garden and flowers last week. I knew it was to early I even posted on this forum how I wish people wouldn't buy early so when the time is right the people with a grain of sense in there heads could get a decent selection. So what do I do? I plant. And what happens? I watch them rot this weekend in the cold, damp, weather. I feel for you debodun but at least you had know way of knowing. I did.

At least pottery and glass won't rot. They keep moving the community-wide garage sale earlier and earlier each year. If it gets any earlier, I'll have to shovel a path through snow to my sale.

If my Mom was here and saw all your tea cups she would have cleaned you out.

Thank you, Ruth. I wished everyone thought that way. When I put the teacup sets out, I thought they'd fly off the table like they did years ago. I didn't see anyone even look at them. And those are just a few - I just don't have the space to put them all out at once.
