Calzone

I had a Southwest Calzone for dinner tonight with a salad and bottle of Pinot Noir. The Calzone was loaded with onions, jalepeno peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, ham, olives,bacon, with a rich tomato sauce. This is one of my favorite Comfort Dinners. and o so good.

Thanks heaps, Lon. I'm sitting here at the computer and trying not to raid the refrigerator for a late night snack and you talk about food! That really, really sounds good.

I loved Calzones when I lived in NY. Rare to find where I live now in the PNW.

Years ago we used to make simple Calzones by cutting pita pockets in half, lightly oiling them and stuffing with ricotta and mozerella and maybe ham. I think I may try that again.

I never had one but they sound good.

They were the subject on a Seinfeld episode; George Steinbrenner JUST HAD TO HAVE ONE !

Sounds great. Looks good. But I would need beer with all those peppers.
