My favorite summertime song is "Summertime" from the folk opera "Porgy and Bess" written in 1935 by George Gershwin, a great American Composer.

It's the most beautiful of all Summertime songs, sung as a lullaby to a baby.

"Summertime and the livin' is easy,
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high,
Oh, your Daddy's rich and your Ma is good lookin'
So hush little baby, don't you cry."
