I believe there are some mental issues going on here. The full story has not been released to the press to keep the family from being harassed (or worse) by others in the community. If the full events of this situation were released, it would more than likely only provocate the community's residents.

Don't you think anyone who would even contemplate doing something like this has some mental issues? I always wonder about that -- does a really sane person just up and kill people? I don't mean something like a bar fight where somebody gets hit, falls down and cracks their head open, or somebody shooting somebody else to save their own life, I mean a person just setting out to kill people, or seeing killing as a way to solve problems?

When I was working, I heard the most idiotic reasons to kill others -- he looked at my girlfriend, he disrespected me, or, my all time favorite, he insulted my dog. I'll never in the world comprehend the thought processes that cause people to think killing is OK for those reasons. Of course, most of that killing is liberally fueled by alcohol or meth or some such, but many times not. Don't you have to have a screw or two seriously loose to think like that?

This was all about pot in the end. It was supposed to be a pot deal. Since the killer was already dealing in pot I'd venture to say was doing pot along with what ever other meds he was on. He was only 20. Many say pot use by teens can cause developmental or brain problems.

To top it off this kid was supposedly a schizophrenic, many are saying most schizophrenics don't kill. I think he's more of a sociopath. 30 contacts with police. I think a committal or treatment for schizophrenia was either a 'we don't know what to do with him' or a lawyer used it to get him out of some legal trouble. Another report has him running over at least one victim because he ran out of bullets when shooting him. Demented to say the least.

If he was a true schizophrenic, 20 is about the age his symptoms would become obvious. True schizophrenics don't have ability to think things through. The best example of this is a true story. A schizophrenic walked into a bank, and walked up to the teller and said, "Give me some money". ( There's no gun, no threat) The teller did as she was told in a robbery, and gave him hundreds. He walked out. The bank then set off all kinds of alarms. Cops are rushing into the bank, guns drawn. The schizophrenic walked back into the bank. He walked back up to the very same teller, and asked her, "Could I have change for a $100?". That's a true schizophrenic.
That killer guy has a lot more wrong with him. I'll bet he's been killing cats and starting fires since he was 8. Somewhere along the line, he got a diagnosis of schizophrenia; but it mostly is "with schizophrenic tendencies", meaning he doesn't think his mayhem through.
