Turmeric Tablets Anyone?

A mate of mine recommended taking Turmeric Tablets for inflammation and sore knees after walking a few miles. Anyone out there tried it?

Yep, and believe me it works. although Tbh the Organic Tumeric Golden paste works much better than the turmeric tablets. I was sceptical at first but my daughter had a serious accident and she had to have 2 of her fingers sown back on, the pain was indescribable for her for months, and the doctor said she would eventually get arthritis in her fingers. This was 3 years ago and she takes the turmeric paste after every meal and she's been able to continue to work in her very physical job without pain ever since...although if she misses a day of taking the turmeric she knows all about it. She recommended it to me when I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hands, so I tried it after first taking the tablets ( the tablets upset my hiatus hernia) but the paste doesn't .

You buy it in a pack and make it up yourself ( we used to make it up into little coffee bean trays and freeze it) , or do as we do and buy it ready made in little tubes and just squeeze a little into your mouth 3 times a day after meals ...it makes a HUGE difference to the pain levels...
OH and it really is important to use the organic paste

I used Zyflamend capsules for years whose ingredients included tumeric. They worked pretty well but are a little pricey. I have sense been using tumeric powder along with salt and black pepper as my goto seasonings when preparing meals. I get at least a little dose every morning on my grits, eggs, and sausage.

We've used Turmeric for a long time, but with any supplements I prefer to take capsules or powder as opposed to hard packed tablets that may not completely dissolve in your system. Turmeric/Curcumin is well know for controlling inflammation, and much pain is due to inflammation. I don't have any serious pain issues, but I use it as a preventative, it has so many benefits. I use organic ground Turmeric powder, and I bought my husband these capsules, he was having some discomfort from old muscle damage and he said it helped, he didn't want to take NSAIDS like Aleve too often due to harmful side effects. https://myheartbook.com/

Turmeric puts drugs (NSAIDS) to shame, read the 2 page article here...http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/tur...s-shame?page=1

Millions take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) daily for arthritis and related inflammatory conditions, but are completely unaware that far safer, and at least as effective, natural alternatives already exist -- and are as easily accessible and inexpensive as the spices found in your kitchen cupboard.

Human research on the health benefits of turmeric is sparse, mainly due to the lack of capital available to fund expensive clinical trials. Despite many decades of investigation as a lead drug compound, and the availability of thousands of preclinical studies indicating turmeric's therapeutic value, few yet realize that this common kitchen spice may provide a suitable drug alternative for common health conditions.

The latest human study to clinically confirm turmeric's medicinal value was published in the Indonesian Journal of Internal Medicine in April, 2012 and found the curcuminoid extract of turmeric was able to reduce inflammation in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis.

I tried the turmeric capsules, but they upset the heck out of my stomach. Maybe I should try the turmeric paste. Hollydollly, where do you get it? And how do you use it? I mean, do you mash it up in something?

Well THIS is an exciting thread. My chiropractor, the one who has all but cured 58 years of migraine headaches for me the natural way (that I'd NEVER heard about nor come across in years and years of research), trained in London and Ireland where healthcare is more about the people than the drug companies, and she has been trying to get me to try turmeric for a few weeks.

I've been hearing about it lately, but I figured it was a fad as I didn't really know anyone who'd tried it and who said it works. I have inflammation in my lower leg that my doctor has been trying to get rid of for nearly a year. He has been giving me steroid shots and now has me on a steroid pill program which doesn't make me happy given the typical side effects of weight gain and moodiness (I already have plenty of both) and I'm mighty tired of taking them already, here 3 days into the 1-month program and already feeling like a moody cow.

My chiropractor, however, is urging me to try turmeric.

I like the sound of the paste...it looks like Amazon carries it. I'll check it out. I'm already trying melatonin to help me sleep and magnesium to help ward off headaches, what's another supplement, right?

And hey, it says it "soothes the nervous system." Win/win!

I found exactly the same thing with the tumeric tablets, they really upset my Hiatus hernia . You can buy the Organic Tumeric Golden paste already made in little tubes and you just have to use a 1/4 or half a teaspoonful or do as we do and just squirt a little in your mouth...the little 100ml tube is easy enough to carry around in your bag if you're out..

or.. you can make it yourself... we used to make it and then pour it into a coffee bean mold which you can buy from Amazon, and freeze them and just pop them out when you need to take one..

If you store it in a jar you can use it in all your recipes, but be careful start small with just a 1/4 or at most 1/2 teaspoon a day for the first week and work your way up to a teaspoonful a day...

This is the absolute truth: My dad was "diagnosed" with prostate cancer, at 80 years of age. I refused to accept the diagnosis because of things I knew about my dad's habits. I won't go into details. Anyway - - - I told him to immediately get on turmeric. He started taking the capsules, daily. (I eat turmeric on my food, everyday, and have been doing so for the last twenty years.) In six months, he showed up at his urologist's office for further evaluation. The MD was literally scratching his head, after going through my dad's latest test results, and said, "Well, I don't know what's going on, but consider yourself cancer free. I have no idea where that tumor went. Maybe it was a glitch in our equipment." I knew better, and so did my dad, who unfortunately soon forgot the lesson I taught him about natural healing, but that's another story.

Joining the crowd...I take it and have noticed the difference in my hip and knee pain.
And shock of all shocks, there isn't 5 pages of side effects, lol
