What is this fascination I have with watching TV shows about murder? And who knew so many people get murdered?? "Well my, my, my." :D

Do you watch true crime shows?

Yes, I am a fan. However I don't have the Investigation Discovery Channel, nor do I have Oxygen anymore where I used to watch Snapped. I was a big fan of HNL when it used to be more of a court cases channel. I remember watching all of the Jodi Arias trial, and and also the Casey Anthony trial. So, now I just watch true crime shows where and when I find them.

I get enough "Murder" just watching the news. Cities like Baltimore, Chicago, and even St. Louis seem to be turning into little more than zones of anarchy. Even our local evening news, coming from Columbia, MO., almost daily has a report of a shooting, or armed robbery.

I cut the cable, so we no longer get ID. But in our digital antenna options we have a channel called Escape, which is basically the same type programing. I love Forensic Files the best, along with some others. Corrupt Crimes and (GASP) Murderous Affairs. What I like best is not the crimes themselves, but what investigators do to solve them. Most of my favorite drama shows are the same genre, Like Bones (which I am in process of binge watching on HULU) and Law & Order SVU.

Marie, I am fascinated by forensics. If I were a young person starting out again, I'd choose a career in some sort of forensic science. In the meantime, I watch it on TV...lol. :D

Me too. It is so neat to see how they do it all. I read somewhere that real life juries are becoming much more savy and wanting to see more forensic evidence during trials. That can be bad and good...as unlike fictional shows, real life does not always wrap things up neatly.

On an OT note....how did you survive the weather down there?

Do you mean the recent freezing weather or the hurricane and flooding? It has been a big weather year for Houston!! We live on the San Jacinto River and it came up to scary levels during the hurricane, but thankfully we were not flooded. People farther upstream and on the west side were not as lucky.

And I'm sure our little "freeze" had nothing on the cold in NY!!! How's your weather this week?

I like Forensics Files and used to watch it a lot until it became repetitious with the same episodes playing over and over again. However, having now not watched it for a long time, there are many new episodes which I am starting to watch again. Me, too, I'm more for the how they solve these crimes rather than the crimes themselves.

I agree, Olivia. One of my favorite shows on ID is "See No Evil," and the crimes are solved using images from random security cameras at businesses, etc. It's fascinating to know how many "eyes" are on us as we go about our unsuspecting lives. :D

Of course I recently discovered I can watch Forensic Files on Netflix. Plus many others. I am in crime show heaven. My husband thinks I have "issues". LOL

Haha. Oh, husbands. What do they know?? ;) (And luckily, I can hide out in the bedroom and watch what I want while he's in the den watching cable news... zzzzzzzz.)
