Age Limits

I'll be 82 later this year. I drive and my license is good till '21. I had to get an eye test last renewal and will again when I need another renewal. I am accident and citation free for 10 or more years. Dammit I'll drive till (and if) I want to quit.
Good for you Jim! I will to or until they put me in a rubber room..lol! :)

I think the age of 18 is good, like Marie said if they can join the military at that age, they should be able to smoke or drink, etc. I'll be getting my driver's license renewed soon at the age of 65, and not aware of any special qualifications beside the eye exam and new photo taken.

^^ This.

Voting should be 21, too many are extremely immature at 18.
Anyone who is going to enlist in the military should do it at age 18. Older than that, you are too used to being a civilian.

I favor mandatory retirement for members of congress and court justices at 75.

About your age limit for military criteria. Maybe when they are older than 18 they will think twice before entering the military.

I disagree with you on the first two topics, but never mind that, what I think is more important is WHY so many young people these days are (as you worded it) extremely immature- because, from what I've seen and read, it's being pushed on young people from every whichway, and it can get really really messy. Young adults are told to postpone responsibilities for as long as possible, and it certainly backfires.

What responsibilities are they pushed or told to postpone? My experience with the younger generation is that they do as they want when they want and that is the way I was, too.

At the age of 18 one is considered an adult, they are then old enough to make their own decisions. If the age consent should/is to be raised, raise the age for military service. As for max. age, so long as one is able to be responsible for themselves, they should be allowed to make those decisions.
