How has the new year been treating you so far?

January is almost gone and time really does fly when we get older. So far the new year has been good for me, my health is ok and I'm living on my own again and realizing that I'm happiest that way. I had my boyfriend move in with me for a long time but we both agreed in a friendly way to live on our own and break the relationship. We still stay in contact and have lunch or a drink once in a while. How has your 2018 been going?

I can't complain, wouldn't do me any good anyway. I got a roof over my head, food on the table, and new video games being released soon. I'm content.

Everything is going well.I'm enjoying puttering around the house, crafts, sewing and trying new recipes. I'm staying out of the stores. To much flu around. I have two freezers full so I have absolutely no need to venture out among the germs.

So glad you have done what was best to do. I've had to do that, too, way long ago. My beginning of 2018 has been pretty uneventful except for the "check engine" light going on in my car for unknown reasons and crazy neighbors enough to pull one's hair out. Other than that Life is Good!

2018 has been pretty good so far. Quite different than last year. We have a 53 year annv coming up so we sat out tonight by the fire pit and talked about our years together and what fools we were when we were younger. :) I hope we remember when the big day arrives. Will someone remind me, to remind someone, to remind me that its my wedding anniversary? Thanks, I knew you wouldn't mind.

Not great. I bundled my Comcast services 2 years ago and this month my bill more than doubled what I had signed up for. I almost had a heart attack. Just hate financial problems.

Not bad so far thanks, my daughter’s ongoing illness is an ever present worry, I’m due to have a new neighbour soon and, after reading Ruthanne posts I’m feeling apprehensive about that... looking forward to the Spring

The missus is getting better after having the flu these last five days. I've been taking care of her plus eating lots of oranges/bananas and taking me vitamins. I don't know if that will do me any good from catching the bug, but I guess it can't hurt. We've both got our flu shots this year. Other than that, life is good and the livin is easy.. :untroubled:

Weather has been a bit miserable and I seem to have had a constant sniffle all month - other than that, we're keeping well. It's been a busy month, but I don't seem to have achieved much. High spot was seeing "Beautiful" - the Carole King musical at the theatre. It's a lovely old traditional theatre with great acoustics - great for musicals.

I don't know where Jan has gone,it certainly has zipped by,staying busy has certainly helped.. I received my 1st SS direct deposit ck the other day.I'm still adjusting to the fact I'm now eligible for Medicare.I look forward to spring and warmer temps, putting my winter stuff away for another yr. Sue

Oooh I'm sorry to hear your daughter has health issues Wren... and very good luck with the new neighbours..its always a concern as to what you're going to get isn't it?

Very well so far. Oddly I used less electricity in January with record cold temps than in any month for years. I wish I knew what I did it was lovely receiving such a reduced bill. (The bill was not an estimate and for the usual number of days.)

So far so good although I'm just getting over a bad cold. I'm celebrating two years free of atrial fibrillation due to the cardiac ablation I had Jan 6th, 2016. I can't believe it's been that long!! Time certainly does fly as we age. I'm feeling blessed.

I started the year breaking ties with a group and now feel so much better, more relaxed and ready to tackle life once again. Sometimes you don't realize how stressed you are until the stress stops.

I have a little money in the bank, food in the fridge, and that is really all that is needed.....that and a good book.

Caught a cold the first week of January, tried really hard not to give it to my wife but that didn't work as planned. So, we've both had our first cold of 2018. Strange too, because I don't leave the house unless I absolutely have to, so it begs the question, how in the world did I get it? Good news is we survived and the new year is looking better now. Looking forward to the wife retiring this year, I'm already retired so it will be nice to have her company and start doing stuff together again. We have 3 vehicles, once she retires we're thinking of getting rid of 2 of them and replacing them with a Honda Ridgeline, but I've also had my eye on the Mini Cooper Countryman . Ooh, I'm also planning to get a new Apple iMac this year, Apple slipped a wrench in my gears by introducing an iMac Pro, dadblamit. The Pro version is cost prohibitive but man is she sweet. Wife already gave permission to get the new computer so, as soon as I settle on a model, features and options, I'll order it. So, yeah, 2018, except for the cold and wild fires, is starting out well for us (knock on wood).
