Eating out

Hey Seniors...do you like to eat out? We do...it's fun!

So do you dine out frequently or rarely?

Do you prefer Restaurant Service or are you happiest in a Buffet?

What's your preference...Italian? Mexican? Chinese? Steak? Seafood?

Well, Judy and I are going out tonight to our weekly visit to the High Desert's popular Steer & Stein Steakhouse.

She'll probably have her usual Tri-Tip, but instead of my usual Seafood dinner, this time I'm ordering Falcon's favorite dinner!

(Along with a 32-oz Brew on the side...)

I'd love to eat out a lot more than I can afford.

I like all the preferences you listed also Indian, Thai, French and Japanese as well as a good burger.

No dirty dishes or pots to scrub...bliss.

After working out of town for 18 years, and keeping an apartment there that wasn`t really conducive to cooking (no windows in the kitchen),we are enjoying eating at home more-especially because I love to cook. But we still eat dinner out at least twice a week-Friday and Saturday nights. Tonight we are going out for pizza because I want to go down to the lake and see the moon on the lake. But generally we eat at home during the week.

Definitely prefer restaurant service over buffets but we don`t have any decent buffets around here so it`s a moot point.

Italian is my favorite, but we also do not have an Italian restaurant here so....We do have two "Italian steakhouses" but I like just traditional Italian-you know, pastas, veal and chicken dishes,Eggplant Parmigana, etc.

Oh. There is an Indian restaurant opening up here any day and we are all dying to try it. I have never eaten in an Indian restaurant, but I love curries so I am really looking forward to it. But I tthink I`m going to have to go with girlfriends cuz hubby isn`t really on board.

It has been about two years since I've eaten in a restaurant.

In the summer I take one of my $20.00 vacations and drive to a lakside drive-in for a fish sandwich or a hot dog and relax by the water.

No buffets, salad bars or potlucks for me, the idea of everyone pawing through the food grosses me out!

We don't eat out on a regular basis. I love to cook and would rather spend the money on ingredients I wouldn't ordinarily buy. Once in awhile we go to I Hop because the hubby loves pancakes and I like the omelets they have. When we travel to see our daughter we like buffets.

We eat out a couple of times a week, but mostly I cook. I enjoy cooking and I'd rather stay at home than go out. (But there's something to be said for a trip to the steakhouse and a couple of margaritas. :D )

We go out about once a week. It varies, tomorrow night it is a mexican place, last week it was a place that has western, italian and pizza's. We eat pretty healthy and watch the portions almost all the time, so it is great to get out once a week or so. Went to a Thai restaurant a few weeks ago....it was wonderful...might be a new favorite. Rarely do buffets, it all looks so good at the start, a little this and a little that, by the time I leave i feel so full I swear I won't go to another one...until next time!

When we first got together 26 years ago, my husband would take me out to eat 4 or 5 times a week. Back then, we were the diner "king and queen". Now there are a few Chinese buffets in our area so we sometimes go to one of the two newer ones. We have had to curtail eating out over the years, sometimes it was finances, more recently due to dietary restrictions. For a time he owned a take out joint...hired a Jamaican cook, so he sold Jamaican food, oxtails and fish dinners. He'd bring home curried chicken or goat or fish dinners with cabbage cooked just the way I like. I'd say we eat out on the average of 3 times a month now. I prefer seafood. My husband LOVES to eat (but he never gains weight) and his preference is whatever his tastebuds are desiring at the time. Currently we are both "in love with" Costco's Chicken Caesar salad.

Just as Butterfly said, we rarely eat out. I was counting the times we ate out last year and the total added up to two. Once when we took our daughter to the airport and had time to kill before my wife's Dr, appt. and we were 60 miles from home. I can't think of the other time right now but I'm sure there was one more.

My realtor gave me a $100 gift card as a thank you. I knew I would not use it so gave it to a neighbor who was a little down.

If I do eat out it is McDonalds or Burger Kind occasionally and only with a coupon.

Ican't remember the last time I was in a restaurant. There is a Panera's 2 blocks away from my apt building. When it first opened 4 yrs ago,I had a meal there, food was delicious.I usually go in there twice/month to pick up one of their salads for my dinner Sue

That's it. Thank you Mizzkitt for the reminder. Our second time we ate out last year We got a $25 gift card to Rivertowne BBQ in Ozark. We got it for Christmas but didn't use it for several months.
