Vitamins; Gummies For Adults Or Not?

My retired neighbor told me she just loves the gummy-bear vitamins for grown ups. I didn't know about them before she told me. Has anyone ever had them?

I have had other things in the gummie. I would guess that having something chewable is good for someone who has trouble swallowing. I would just be careful to keep them away from any kids in the house who may think they are gummy candy. Some of the gummy pills I have had taste OK, some not so much.

Good point about the kids. There are other medications in gummies, too? Never knew.

I would try them if they don't contain sugar, have the right vitamin and mineral content for me and are competitive in price with the traditional tablets and softgels.

I agree with the idea that they should not be made in shapes or flavors that might be attractive to small children.

I feel the same. They are often sugary like candy and might appeal to the kiddos.

I have trouble swallowing the vitamin pills they have out today. I was going to try the gummies but noticed the dosage says to take two which made them so much more expensive than the regular ones.

I have been taking the Vitafusion Hair, Skin and Nails formula gummies for over a year and I really like them. They are berry flavored and sugar free.

I have trouble swallowing pill also, I just open up the capsules and mix them with orange juice, easier than swallowing. I never had gummies, but I don't think they have all the vitamins and minerals that you can get in a regular quality vitamin, and I also figured they either had sugar or an artificial sweetener, maybe not all of them.

Ive been told to never break up a pill unless your sure it isn’t time released. Usually, it will state on the label..do not crush .Time release capsule.

I dont know about your vitamins, SB, but I’d check.

Good luck!

I take lots of vitamins; but I do not like Gummy anything, not bears, worms or whatever shape. However if a person needs vitamins and likes Gummies I say go for it.

I, too, have trouble swallowing large pills/vitamins and have thought about gummies. Fortunately, vitamins do not taste that bad so I just chew them. For the really large ones I split them first in one of those pill cutter devices.

My SIL takes 2 or 3 different vitamins in Gummie form. I was wondering about them so my daughter gave us a couple partially filled bottles to try. They were fine but I don't know if I'll go out and buy any. We usually get our vitamins in capsuled herbs and they are easy for us to swallow.

When I was little, vitamins came in drops, then a syrup poured into a spoon, called ViDaylin

I object to gummies simply from a philosophical viewpoint - I feel like I'm being forced to be a kid again. That because I'm getting older, I'm expected to become child-like.

I can understand the desire to use them if you have difficulty swallowing pills, but since I don't, I'll stick with my strange aversion.

We started taking our vitamins in gummy form because swallow-able vitamins don't dissolve fast enough and we both get pain in our stomachs from them. They are the only thing that hurts our tummies. So when I saw gummy vitamins we tried them .. no tummy pain so for us it works. You are all correct on them being more expensive but it's that or not being able to take any vitamins at all.
