Funny, while wife and I were having breakfast at iHOP this past Sunday, and we could hear some people coughing, I asked her when we got home......."Wonder how many Seniors don't eat in restaurants during winter/flu season? They order take-out instead and eat at home? How many don't go to church due to all who go and a person can hear them coughing during the Service?"
Thing is, Seniors have to go some places where there are people walking around, like the grocery store or even a Mall.
We got the Senior Double-Dose Flu Shot last November, however there have been times since that we've both had to take a regular cold and flu tablet after being somewhere where people were coughing. Seems like the beginning of Stomach Flu we get and then, after taking the tablet, we are better.
Wife told me last week, when she got home from work, that a young lady was wearing a surgical mask while getting coffee in the Conference Room. Wife told me she was of Asian Descent. Thank God this lady worked at the other end of the building.
There was a good size article online last year talking about people who, financially, can't take time off of work for sickness. Either the company they work for doesn't offer Sick Pay, or they simply don't want to take time off to get better. Thing is, nobody really knows how many days it would take to get better. Back in 1999, I got a bad cold on a Monday and had to take the rest of the week off. Even had to get medication from the VA for it. It was a pretty bad cold. Fortunately, because my living expenses were so low, I could take some of the time off without pay.
