When I was in my 20's, the job I had at that time was as a sewing machine operator. I worked for Ayres Horse Blanket Company. I ran a double needle machine attaching the large girths (belts) to the blankets. When my work was slow they would put me on various other machines where I ran the binder or tacker. It was piece work.

The original owner had 2 daughters. After he died the factory was left to them. Their husbands jointly ran the place. Both families wanted to live large, as the father had once lived owning the place with just himself to enjoy all profits. Naturally, that was an impossible dream.

The 2 son in laws ran the place into the ground and they went out of business, by expecting the profits to enable them to live a high lifestyle and ignoring the fact money needed to also be put back into the company to keep it running. So me & many others were then without employment. I put it all down to their greed.

Sea, I am SO chuckling at you right now......those horses in the blankets are NOT real horses, they are just the plastic ones they use to show how the blankets look, they are the horse version of mannequins !

Lol, well you know I'm not a horsey person HFL, but I do love animals, they looked life-like to me! Better be sure to have my reading glasses on next time I read the posts! :p
