Probably could've posted this in Sports but its time to kick up the rivalry a notch. Team Canada vs Team USA. Lets go Ladies, lets make this #5 !! (Late game start, just after 11pm, hopefully I can stay awake!!)usatsi_10615087_1.jpg
 

Just watched the Teams hit the ice. Can't believe the number of empty seats. Guess Hockey isn't a big draw in Korea.

1:30 PM. They even serve beer and the seats are still empty. Just don't get it. Noticed the same for Figure Skating the place looked empty. Perhaps some of the ticket prices are too high?

Canada felt sorry for the USA after taking Gold since 1998. Thought we'd throw them a bone this time....but only this time !!

I noticed a lot of empty seats at some of the speed skating events too, popular events in that country and their athletes are competing well. They may have priced the tickets so high most people are staying away. That would be an extra burden on the families of athletes who traveled to South Korea for the games.

It was, but no more so than some years ago when the American team sported a Canadian flag on the floor of their dressing room. Huge animosity between these two teams. Well done America, your gold medal was twenty years in the making, victory must be sweet indeed.

I think it's that much sweeter because it was the women's team who did it. No idea why there's such a hostile rivalry, but I bet if we could look back it was driven by media or politicians. In other words, spectators.
 
If any of you know anything about hockey you know that a shoot out is really not a way to finish a hockey game.

The score is tied at the end of three periods. You play till someone scores. Shootouts are for the birds. I don't even consider that a loss.

It's a tie.

Agree Camper, it should sudden death/ golden goal, however long it takes.
