Sen John McCain has died

Many years ago I was standing at the exit of a grocery store. It was raining very hard so I was waiting for it to let up some before going to my car. Someone close by was doing the same and when I did a double take I noticed it was Senator McCain. He smiled and commented on the summer storm and we talked a couple of minutes, not about politics, but about how bad the Arizona Diamondbacks were doing that season. I know others who had similar run ins with him. The state of Arizona will miss not only his leadership but his character.

When I heard that his mother was also by his side, I thought it had to be some kind of typo. But it's true. His mother is still with us at 106 years old!

Yes, of that I'm very sure. And not just Arizona. So, so very much.

For those of you with HBO, I recommend watching the documentary "John McCain, For Whom the Bell Tolls." Very interesting and a nice tribute to the Senator.

Watched in on either CNN or MSNBC this past weekend, very good show. I had great respect admiration for the man before watching and still do.

Funny thing, I was sleeping late this morning, woke had the tv on fell asleep and was dreaming I was at his funeral. I'm thinking the news people must have been talking about the funeral and it seeped into my subconscious as I was dreaming. The dream itself had some weird elements, but, I won't bore you all, it will take up too much time to retell it all. Not that such things ever stopped me in the past.

RIP to a most honorable man.
