Woman jerking me around about Facebook ad

I advertised some Halloween decorations on a local FB selling group. A woman responded and said she was interested. We attempted to set a day and time, but every one I proposed she said didn't work for her. She finally admitted that she had to depend on her daughter who didn't get home form her job until between 5:30 and 6 pm, the by the time they had dinner, it would probably be 7 pm or later. Now it starts getting dark here that early and I don't like to have people coming after dark. I suggested the weekend and she said she couldn't come Saturday morning but between 2 and 4pm she could probably make it. I agreed to this. Now this morning she PMed me and said she couldn't come until very late because she decided to attend a book festival which is about 30 miles away, then after that she had an appointment at 5 pm. Is this woman for real?

Deb, I've been selling quite a bit on Facebook mostly to help a friend who's now in a nursing home make a few dollars. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the aggravation. I would say 80% have a story like you described, don't show at all and certainly don't read my description or bother to look at the zip code. Then they say it is to far to come.

If the item is small and only worth a few dollars and you don't mind if it is stolen, I'll sometimes tell them it is on my porch and to put the money in an envelope under my mat. So far it has worked and I don't have to wait all day for a no show.

Thats a great idea Ruth. I agree with you and RaddishRose. It’s not worth the aggravation.

i know this is an old thread but i had similar issues happen to me on those buy/sell/trade sites. i finally just quit. i sold one retro kitchen & chairs & that was it. and some other lady thought she was first in line & got all p*ssy with me so i just didn't bother anymore with it. i wonder if they don't do it on purpose to try to work you into lowering your price.
