The Radio Sweden Saturday Show.

At one time I could pick up Shortwave Stations. But since the introduction of the internet there is hardly anything on shortwave except religious broadcasts.

I can remember skipping school with my friends to listen to a baseball game on shortwave on opening day.

On the Armed Forces Radio Network.

We no longer have any AM stations in our city. Just FM now.

I can pick up AM stations at night. I have one of those Grundig radios. They come in handy when there is a power outage because they are battery operated.

I was an avid shortwave listener.I listened to American sport on Armed Forces radio. Not just on SW as we could get AFN from Germany on AM at night. And Radio Australia,The Voice of America,Radio Canada International and Radio Netherlands were daily listens.Plus lots of others.Where these stations still exist listening on the internet does not hold the same appeal.
i still have an SW radio.Radio China International are the biggest broadcaster left there. But I miss tuning in a few minutes before a broadcast when stations fired up their interval signal.
