Favorite ugly slippers

I have a pair of slippers that I should have thrown in the trash months ago,but I cant.

They're so comfortable. And I love them. :) I'm just not ready to part with them.

How ugly are they? I'm too ashamed to post a picture. The toes on each have a hole, the side of the right one is torn, they were always a bit too large for me, but I wear socks and then they're snug. Earlier I was signing the receipt for a pizza and I noticed the delivery guy looked at my slippers. I chuckled and said "I know....I need to get rid of these slippers."

I had a favorite pair of work/cleaning gloves that got so raggedy last year I had to throw them away and get a couple new pairs of work gloves.

I have 2 newer, better quality pairs of slippers, but although I've tried, I can't make the transition...yet.

Some have a favorite old raggedy bathrobe, T-shirt, or pair of pants.

How about you?

2 words for you AC- duct tape.

I only wear socks, but my robe, altho' not ripped yet is a tacky fake leopard fleece.

Shoot, that ain’t nuthin’

My whole wardrobe is holey

Even the Goodwill rag dept wouldn’t take ‘em
(wife tried....heh heh)

But

I love them all, so

They’ve learned to conform to this odd body shape of mine
New clothes don’t know that
Takes time

My ‘slippers’ are actually shoes long worn out

They now just slip on….like, well.... slippers

My work gloves should last a couple more winters
(I just wear gloves in winter)
The finger holes are now just right

I won’t go into much discussion on my underwear, but the elastic lasts forever

The cotton, not so much

Considering headbands for summer

My daughter gave these slippers to me a few years ago. They are so warm and comfortable. I can even wash them although they come out matted and ugly. The bottoms went on them and I used Duck Tape, that was 2 years ago and they are still on the job. Dirty on the bottoms now because I forgot I was wearing them and went into the garage. I'll just retape them after they have had a bath.slippers (800x600).jpgsole of slippers (800x600).jpg

My favorite pair of slip on shoes were duct taped together, they disappeared one day, after searching all over, hubby finally admitted he threw them in the burn barrel:( said it was embarrassing to be seen with me wearing them...I missed them for awhile, they were so comfy so I feel your pain.

Well, I finally did it. Tossed my ugly slippers in the trash can and started wearing one of the new pairs that's been in the closet for months. New ones have to be broken in but they look so much better. :pepper:

I also have a blue robe that has been patched a few times (on the elbows) and has really worn itself thin (just the pockets). My mom bought it for me five years before she died. The robe will be 20 years old this coming Christmas. My wife has bought me three other blue robes, but I prefer the one my mom bought.

I refuse to part with it. My wife keeps telling me that when I take one of my weekends away, the robe will be gone, so now I take it along.

Some years ago I had a pair of slippers that looked like a bears feet, fuzzy with claws made of fabric. They were fun.

I have a TOTALLY knackered pair of [I believe] ''Sketchers'' { think that's right} flip-flop slide-on sandals that I bought on ebay around 50,000 miles ago!
The IDEA,was I wanted a pair of 'quick-grab some footwear!' type things, for indoor use. Got that? INDOOR use.

HUH!

They've now walked circa twice around the world, done things sandals just shouldn't do [driving a 125-ton low-loader...SO comfy]...and they now BOTH have a bloody great crack across the sole-RIGHT across, underneath, caused by me kneeling to undo the chains/straps on my hostag..er..I mean, the load/machine I'm carrying! Yes-my load! [oops]
But as I have size 13 feet, decent comfy slip-ons are almost non-existent...so,my split-soled Sketcher slip-ons march manfully onward....
