Blackfaces In the News Here

In the 21st century, racism and unwarranted disrespect are clearly not acceptable. OTOH, far too many people these days are diligently searching for opportunities to claim victimhood.

For me "politically correct" is a derogatory term.

Absolutely true!

It's clear that people who are not minorities, have a very different outlook on what is/isn't
considered racial discrimination.

Remember The radio program "Amos & Andy" ? No problems there.

Not for white listeners or the white actors who did the voices on the radio. Both the radio and TV show were extremely offensive.

Definitely. But not sure it's a different outlook as much as a "get over it" way of sweeping racism under the rug - or trying to. Nobody needs to "search" for or invent discrimination.

Nazi concentration camps? Get over it.
Apartheid in South Africa? Get over it.
Internment of Japanese Americans? Get over it
KKK Lynch mobs? Get over it.

"Get over it". Yeah, riiiiight.

OTOH, there are/have been some SF members who are/were extremely enlightened and honest regarding racial matters. Off the top of my head...Quicksilver/Lolly and Trade. A few others.
