I mix La Martineque poppy seed, Nakano seasoned rice vinegar and olive oil for one. The other is 70% ranch, 30% french and olive oil.

I do make my own sometimes, just a vinaigrette;

olive oil
wine vinegar
minced shallot
1 rounded tsp Dijon style mustard
salt and pepper

Sometimes I add a pressed garlic clove and/or some dill.

Altho' I do like Newman's Own Classic Caesar in a bottle, homemade dressings taste better, imo.

I have a couple I make and on occasion I've mixed up whatever is left in the bottles in the refrigerator. I wouldn't be able to duplicate it even if it was the best tasting stuff in the world. The hubby like Ken's Sweet Vidalia Onion and I love Russian. We always seem to go back to those two.

Simple vinaigrette

1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
3 tablespoons champagne vinegar
Salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
1/2 cup extra virgin olive

Whisk the first 4 times ingredients together, then slowly add olive oil until emulsified .

Great on salad greens or mesclun mix

Note: white wine vinegar is a good substitute or balsamic

Russian dressing is just mayonnaise and ketchup.

If you add some pickle relish, you can call it Thousand Island, or not.

Martha Stewart adds Worcestershire sauce.

Ohh I didn’t notice your recipe RaddishRose.
Great minds think alike and clearly you have great taste :playful::love_heart:

The Russian I buy is deep, dark red. What I question is the taste difference between it and French!

I think Russian has a more of a creamy tomato taste than French. Not as sharp. Ken's Russian is very light in color. I agree with Radishrose, if you mix in pickle relish you end up with Thousand Island. I don't care for relish so I stick to my plain Russian.

Don't like the Kens brand and have never tried the creamy Russian. Don't like the orange colored creamy French either.
