It is a big step for women.
If all goes according to plan, on March 29, astronauts aboard the International Space Station are scheduled to conduct the first all-female spacewalk. Anne McClain and Christina Koch will venture out together about 240 miles (400 kilometres) above Earth and make history.
Adding to the significance of their mission, the spacewalk will take place during Women's History Month.
"It was not orchestrated to be this way," said NASA spokeswoman Stephanie Schierholz. "These spacewalks were originally scheduled to take place in the fall — they are to upgrade batteries on the space station."

(Kudos to these gals, for sure!)

I read this comment on another site:

“I’m glad women have finally found a place where no one can harass them while they’re walking.”

This thread is a perfect illustration of the fact that discrimination is alive and well.

The world, including this forum, needs to accept, without patronising comment, that women can do whatever they want except father a child.

That, if it ever happens, will be a news story.

WY, whatever could you mean?

Permit me to add to the perfect illustrations
…with a perfect illustration;

I'm assuming they were selected to and are going to do it because they were available & best qualified, not to have a "girls night out" event. I agree with what Laurie said. Have to roll my eyes once again at the SMALL flock of sexist old turkeys here that have to make a joke out of women's achievements

Can't agree with your assessment. Having fun is not mocking. Humor is not yet outlawed in America.
