His and hers tattoos.

An old rodeo buddy of mine, from 21 or so years ago, had a tattoo on his shoulder with the name of his ex-wife on it. His new girlfriend-turned-wife didn't like it and he couldn't understand why. She looked at him and said "how would you feel being in bed with me and seeing an "ex's" name on my shoulder?" He had the tattoo redone into something else. He done this very shortly after they got engaged.

One thing for sure, Ronni, as you can tell, there are others in the forum that think the exact same way wife and I think...……..absolutely NOT!!
Actually, I think doing a thread about tattoos, like I did and now you are, is bring up a very, very controversial subject that the OP will get "the good, the bad and the ugly" in replies.

Ronni, this is new to me, did you know they're doing some tattoos in white ink? More here.

YES!!!! SB the last time I had something done (a small tweak to one of mine) my gal Caitlin told me about this new trend, and showed me some of her work. And I absolutely love it!! Personally I think it looks best as a counterpoint to another or other colors, as in that first image. Though that snowflake is pretty rad too!

She outlined a bit of one of my tattoos in white, just to give it a bit of extra pop! It sure made a difference. I have some ideas for some white additions to two of mine, since she showed me this idea. And have been mulling whether or not the matching tattoos Ron and I plan to get should be black and white. Thinking primarily about the thumbprint heard...if one side of the heart was black and the other white, if that would look good. But anyway, yeah, I love the way they look!

What I really wonder is...…..how good of a living a tattoo artist makes if he, or she, is very, very good. Salary. At our local mall, there is a very nice looking, and rather large tattoo parlor, but we've just walked by. The parlor looks very plush inside, but my wife would never want to go in. With as popular as tattoos are in some parts of the U.S., it would seem like a very good tattoo artist would, with enough clients, make the kind of money an Engineer, CEO or CFO would make and live a very nice lifestyle.

I don't want to continue to take Ronni's thread off track from the original topic ClassicRockr, but I'll answer your question.

Tattooing is an art, the tattoo artist can create a drawing on paper or use the skin as their canvas. Just as in any form of art, the artist is paid for the extent of their talent, their experience and their reputation. A good tattoo artist can make anywhere from $100 to $1500 per hour, perhaps more for their work. It's a well paying occupation, and the more skilled, the higher the salary. People who want high quality art in any form, are more than happy to pay the price.

I agree Ronni, the white looks best in my opinion when used along with another color. I'm sure you'll get a really nice tattoo, whatever style you decide on. :)
