Weight loss for women in their 50's

I hope so! I am 53 and really feeling my weight lately. It’s affecting my health in so many ways, and I can’t find winter dress boots that fit my thick ankles and calves :( I have an appointment in January to talk to my doctor. My family has diabetes on both sides so I’m going to end up with...

Seniors, Are You Comfortable Being Naked in Front of Others?

The only people who see me naked are my husband, my doctor and my three boyfriends.

    Men in Suits

Now this thread has me all rather hot and bothered! I swoon when I see an older man dressed in a very good quality suit. Doesn’t matter so much what the man looks like, it’s more about the suit. 💕

    Emerging From the Pandemic

I feel the same. I don’t know why but as I’ve aged I’ve become difficult I guess I would call it. In my 20’s living in a large city I had so many social friends. Now I have my husband and that’s about it. I’ve had women try and befriend me but with the pandemic I just couldn’t keep up. I have...

Bowel Polyps/Crohns disease and all that not-so-fun stuff

Update: talked to my specialist on Wednesday and he is trying to get my scope moved up so we can find out why my symptoms are worsening. Still not worried but it would be nice to know what’s going on. I don’t mind the colonoscopy, I always lose a few lbs :)

Spending too much time on my screens

I’ve been spending WAY too much time on screens in the last year. It was a problem before Covid, but now I’m finding myself browsing on my screen over reading books! I love reading books! Hopefully in a few weeks when the garden takes up more of my time it will cut into my screen time. Right now...

Bowel Polyps/Crohns disease and all that not-so-fun stuff

I was on prednisone eye drops for inflammation in my eyeballs and had to have cataract surgery in my 40’s. :( But I’m glad I had the surgery, I don’t need glasses except to read fine print now. But still it was a shock to be 45 and have cataracts!

Bowel Polyps/Crohns disease and all that not-so-fun stuff

Thanks everyone for your replies. I’m wondering if I would be better off with a bag. My medications have helped (at one point I had diarrhea 50 x’s a day - I would go then even before I could get back to my chair I had to go again!!) now I go a few times a day but I can’t go out for a long walk...

How many of you had cataract eye surgery?

Both our health plans covered the lenses. I hope yours does as well. Cheaper than one pair of glasses so you would hope they would cover the lenses.

Bowel Polyps/Crohns disease and all that not-so-fun stuff

I have Crohns disease, diagnosed in 2004. Where I am you can get a colonoscopy done every three years. My last one was in 2018 so I am due again later this year. Doctor already has requested it be scheduled due to pandemic delays. Last time they found one polyp that was benign, but I know once...

How many of you had cataract eye surgery?

I had both eyes done in the summer of 2019. I was in my 40's but had bad cataracts because of some eye drops I was on long term to reduce the swelling in my eye balls which was the result of my crohn's disease. My whole body is one big inflammation flare up. I was scared to death but the...

Thankful to have a yard during this pandemic

Its not really a lockdown, although I know it’s a term everyone recognizes so people use it. It’s a stay at home order. Similar but we can still go out for certain things and can still go shopping inside stores for essentials. It’s scheduled to last until the end of April here but could be...
