    Forum member seriously injured

I hate to repeat what has been said, but I was thrilled to see your post. Broken ribs can be crippling all by themselves, been there done that, but added to your other injuries, I can't imagine the pain and discomfort. Just take it easy and let the bones knit and the wounds heal. Don't rush it.

Music of 1967 to feed the nostalgic mood

One of our dogs is named after this song

    Do you own a firearm?

I do own guns. Self defense being only one reason. Some of them were passed down from my dad, the rest I bought because they were interesting, or something new I wanted to try. Some are just good looking. There are some I'll never sell, but I do want to thin the herd a bit. The last couple years...

What Type of Jeans Do You Wear?

Wrangler, boot cut or regular fit. I'm square, 36x36 but about ready to move to the 34x36. My problem is, my belly is 2 pants sizes bigger than my butt.

Ubiquitous "The Andy Griffith Show" TV reruns

I think people like it because of the format and characters. these days the shows are all about sex, violence and pushing one agenda or another. If not then they are reality shows. I like a show that tells a story without "spicing it up" The old Andy Griffith shows are simple, fun and clean.

"When I grow up, I'm going to be..."

I always thought I'd be a cartoonist or a writer. Cowboy was another option. Cartooning fell by the side of the road of life, writing kind of did the same but I had a few things, poems mostly published. A younger version of me worked as a cowboy, but I got dragged to town and a factory job by my...

Have you gotten more clumsy as you’ve aged?

Yes indeed. Mostly my hands, the fingers are getting stiff and I don't have the fine motor skills I used to have. I drop things, knock things over, etc.

What kind of vehicle do you own/drive?

This thread is a little old, but I thought I'd revive it rather than starting a new one. My Dodge Ram pickup is still fighting computer gremlins, and I really need a pickup almost daily. Found this one locally at a fair price, so I snagged it. For a 20 year old vehicle, it's in pretty nice shape.

Do you have a morning routine?

I wake up about 3:30 or 4:00, make the bed, shave, brush my teeth, put the dogs out, pack my lunch, make sure the dogs have food and fresh water, let the dogs in, give them a quick scratch and leave for work no later than 4:30 That's 4 days a week, weekends vary a little, but not a lot.

What is a "home life" and do you have one?

I've been wondering about my "home life" lately. I've always envied those people who look forward to going home after a hard day's work to a tidy house, maybe supper cooking on the stove. Maybe greeted at the door with a smile and a kiss and a little unwind time before eating supper. It seems...

How did you come up with your username?

I've been Cornhusker or Cornhusker77 on multiple forums from homesteading to firearms to cars, Jeeps, etc. for over 20 years. I'm from Nebraska and like most Nebraskans, I'm a Cornhusker through and through. (UNL sports) I could have used my name, but "Tim" has no pizazz.

Do you have stairs where you live?

I have stairs in both houses. The farm has steep stairs going to the second floor, one set of basement stairs is just as steep, the other set of basement stairs are a nice shallow angle. The house in town has a nice slope going up, but the basement stairs are steep. The only issue I have is the...
