One down, one to go

Eyes that is.
Got the cataract surgery on my right eye as well as a Toric lens.
So far so good, and the procedure wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
For the first week, I have to sleep in the recliner to keep my head at a 45° or so angle.
also have to wear an eye shield when I sleep.
They say it will take 4-6 weeks to get the eye to 100%, and I'm having the second one done 2 weeks after the first one.
I'm looking forward to having good vision.
If you ever get the chance to get it done, go for it.

Thanks Cornhusker, good luck and please keep us posted. I'm getting cararacts removed soon. I can't sleep sitting up! Really dreading this!

Not everyone has to sit up to sleep during the initial healing period.

You do have to follow the doctor’s instructions implicitly, whatever they are for you.

I had both eyes done two weeks apart and for me it was remembering to strictly follow the eye drop schedule.

Thanks, Imogene. Most of the time I'll be applying the drops myself. So I'll ask for plenty of extra drops for when I miss.

They told me I'd probably have to get some readers, and they were right.
I probably won't get any until I get the other eye done, but I have some safety glasses here that are 1.5 that seem to work pretty well.
On the way to work (In the dark) I saw a herd of deer on both sides of the road long before I had to do any fancy driving.
Even though there was plenty of moonlight, I wouldn't have seen them that soon before.
I'll be glad to have the other eye done. right now, my eyes seem to be either trying to do different things or trying to support each other.

I did Cataract Surgery in my mid 50s.
I consulted a regular Ophthalmologist and I was told my right eye has partial retina problem which causes not able to read fine print. Recalling my young age, at age 20 a peck of dust went into my right eye on a very windy day in the Spring. Recklessly I kept wearing it even the Ophthalomogist to not wear it a few days.

The Ophalmogist told me he has done many Cataract Surgeries over almost 40 years span, but he said 'can not take risk' because of my right eye issue and referred me to the very Renowned Cataract Surgeon.

The very renowned Cataract Surgeon did not take any Insurance Plans although I had an excellent Insurance Plan and needed to pay almost $8,000(today's estimate price).

I got a very good eye-sight afterwards, I'm very glad for it done.
I recall 'Cataract Kit) I received and two tiny bottles of eye-drops for a week's worth inside the case. Since then, I can read and write without glasses except driving. My left conpensate all of my eye-sight.
