Man coming to look at my house

If you can get an offer anywhere near $200K, Take It! Based upon your prior posts, it would probably cost at least half that amount to fix all the problems you have noted.

    Where I used to work...

I was an "IBMer" too, for almost 35 years. I started out fixing "punch card" equipment, and followed the technology through the "370" years. It was a great company to work for. When the big water cooled mainframes began to give way to "super PC's", I moved over to the high speed laser...

Homeless Pennsylvania Man Faces 7 Years In Prison Over 43 Cent Soda Theft

The U.S. has the highest prison population in the world. It costs the nation untold Billions of dollars/years to warehouse these people. Those who commit violent crimes should certainly be locked up for decades/life, but I wonder if there might be better ways to handle those who commit minor...

covid greatest death toll since spanish flu

The latest WHO count says that over 4.7 million people (globally) have died. With little, or no, sign of this virus slowing down, those numbers will likely continue to climb.

    What are you doing today?

If its a watch with a "knob" for setting the time, look closely at the back case for a small "notch" that would align with the knob "stem". If that notch isn't aligned perfectly with the stem, the back cover will not seat down properly. Even then, the cover on some of these watches fits so...

Booster shot of Covid-19 vaccine, yes or no?

We got the Moderna shots early this year, and so far it looks like this "brand" is showing the best long term effectiveness. However, we continue to watch the news, and if/when a booster becomes available, we will give it strong consideration. We'd rather have a couple of days with a minor...

    What are you doing today?

I replaced the battery in my Timex wristwatch this morning. When I opened the case, I found that it had a cover over the battery with a couple of very tiny "latches"....I could have easily broken them. I found a UTube video that showed the proper way to unlatch the battery, and did it the...

Things We Did and Do to Get Trough a Challenging Issue and Times

Same here. I try to figure out what could go wrong, and try to plan for it. I try to fix everything that breaks around the house, or the vehicles, and often I find myself doing something I've never done before. In that case, I've found that the UTube videos are the best source for...

    Where is Brian Laundrie?

This case is getting stranger by the day. I wonder why the police didn't have this guy under surveillance, once they labeled him a "person of interest". If this thing works out the way it's starting to look, I can see a script for a Hollywood movie forming.

Scariest Of All Thoughts on The Virus

It's a tossup between Overpopulation and Climate Change as to what poses the greatest risk to humanity. Perhaps this virus will ultimately prove to help limit the human damage to this planet by reducing the population by several percentage points.

Migrants in Texas: US 'to fly thousands back to Haiti'

If present trends continue, by 2050 California may have to change its name to Mexifornia.

Panel of 18 vote with majority against recommending Covid booster. Lacking safety and evidence

I think I figured out where some of these people get their "news". I watched the TV channel "Newsmax" for an hour today, and that "extremist" channel is a textbook example of the misinformation floating around regarding this virus and the vaccines.

What TV show do you try never to miss

I'm waiting for the new season of Yellowstone to start....I will rearrange my schedule to watch that show. I was the same way with the Vikings series, over the past few years....sadly, that series has ended. I've also been in the habit of watching Jeopardy every afternoon after I finish my...

    Meteorological Fall

We've had a fairly dry and hot August/September, and the leaves are starting to change color. If the forecasts are right, we should see some cooler weather setting in within the next week, or so. I'm ready for some nice cooler days.

    Grocery Store Baggers

We have a Sav-A-Lot grocery store a few miles away, and we usually stop there for a few things if we're driving through that area....their prices are usually quite good. They Never bag the items...instead they ask the customers to bring a cart to leave at the checkout....and the customers put...
