Yes he did. I don't recall his character's name, but he was always reading. During the landing he was killed on the beach, the camera zooms in to the book in his pocket "Their Hearts Were Young and Gay" was the title.

Left over store bought garlic herb croutons, milk and sugar make a pretty good substitute for cereal. Honestly, it was better than most commercial cereal. I can usually figure something out, one way or another.
