If you have PBS passport you can watch Astrid there. I haven't watched much of Patience, just enough to see their treatment, but will watch it later on when I can watch with my wife. Not gonna say anymore about either show, I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
 
IMO the best ever detective series from UK was FOYLES WAR - set in Hastings - seaside town and other southern areas too including London. Low key aggression high in intelligence and peaceful approaches - relaxing ; entertaining and sometimes exciting?
