Do you have that special piece(s) of furniture?

@Naturally I love your furniture story but I love you dog more🥰🥰 @PeppermintPatty your recliner reminds me of the Lazy Boy mom gave me back in the 80’s and I kept until five or so years ago. Like yours, everyone loved that chair. I still have the stuffed rocker my dad and stepmom gave me when...

    Are you a packrat?

“Junk” is by whose definition. There are some useful items that don’t have a specific place, so they go in the junk drawer. Everyone I know has a junk drawer. When I moved to this house, they asked which drawer was the designated junk drawer🤠🤠 I have more than enough kitchen space without...

ATVs —- 2000 Honda Rancher & a 2008 Kawasaki Prairie. They are both in the garage. The Honda leaked so bad I put sand under it. The Kawasaki leaked in the same manner but quit. I am sending the Kawasaki out because it is behind my subcompact tractor — which is STILL leaking hydraulic fluid...

    Are you a packrat?

I don’t consider myself a pack rat in the true sense, but I think there’s a bit of a pack rat in many of us. Mine has more to do with treasures I collected thru the years. Mom was the one who got rid of things because her OCD self couldn’t stand having anything “old” laying around. She...

Why is everything so hard to open?

YES! Those fruit snack cups! I can see why these things come back unopened in a child’s lunch. I end up putting them in a small bowl and stabbing the top just for personal satisfaction. I still have couple in the refrigerator that I stare at every day. The apple sauce snacks are a...

Why is everything so hard to open?

Since my horses have various types of supplements, I open a lot of jar & carton styles on the kitchen counter. I have at my immediate disposal in the kitchen: 1. Non Slip Rubber Jar Gripper Pad 2. pliers 3. channel locks 4. Screwdriver 5. scissors & pen knife. 6. And sometimes just a...

Good Monday morning! Got the horses fed at 6:30 AM as usual. They are hunkered down in front of the barrel fans as usual, in this heat. Made the appointment to have one of my four wheelers picked up to go in for the gas leak it has. They can’t pick it up until July 23 but that’s OK. I’ll just...

This Heat and Your Air Conditioning

Central air — set at 76 to save $$$ and wear on the HVAC unit. If I could afford to, the AC would be set at 65-68. That said, I know it’s miserable outside when I walk into 76 degrees of AC and it feels like the freezer for two minutes.

    Stores, some of my favorite

The Old Isaly Dairy whose Milkshakes couldn’t be beat. The Old SS Kresge company with the creaky and comforting wooden floors. The original Warren Hot Dog Shop before they moved. They had the best hot dog chili sauce around.

Object in your home with the best story behind it

The bridles for each of my horses that are still hanging on their own hooks in the laundry room. There is a lifelong story with each of those bridles and the horse that wore it. All of the horses have been laid to rest. I will leave it to my brother to take the bridles down when I’m no longer...

    Forum member seriously injured

Geez, please tell @hollydolly prayers and well wishes are coming to her from Tennessee USA. A few days in the hospital is serious. I interpret that to mean she may need some assistance at home. Getting groceries, prescriptions, etc. I hope there is someone to help her.

    Kudzu..the scourge of the south

I don’t have enough swear words for that crap🤬🤬 they spray along the state highway, and while thst holds the kudzu at bay for a short time, it’s impossible to kill all of that stuff. I think it’s got to be pulled up by the roots and get all the roots to get rid of it. I have read online that...

So many things need doing, but.....

@outlander I pack myself an ice cubes to get the horses fed every morning and every evening in this weather. I have had to cow down and pay a lawn service twice monthly. I cannot keep up in this heat/humidity. I am at the barn every day before 6:45AM — the time is never exact. Ice cubes or...

No more food pantry at the library

It is likely all part of the big beautiful bill plan to cut back on “waste” Federal funding of food pantries is part of that cut back. You can Google it and get several hits. Nashville Tennessee’s food pantry was a piece of the news this morning as they lost 30% of their funding, which...
