Oh my gosh. This was a shock to read. Get lots of rest and follow the doctor’s orders. Soft foods means lots of ice cream for you.

I wasn't able to eat anything for most of the week. I was getting pretty weak an tired.
Went to the ER Friday swiftly got taken in for an Upper GI imaging, then straight to OR for
an Endoscopy. Which found the opening of my stomach was blocked.
The block was removed but I have to eat foods that require no chewing for the minimum of 10 days, when
I see the surgeon again.
This thing knocked on my butt big time. Luckily no invasive surgery as yet, but my dance card is sure filled up
suddenly with appts
It's been a whirlwind of couple days, so I will be on and off, but always wondering what comments are posted that
would make me laugh.
I will pop in just not regular for awhile. &

So sorry you are going through this health problem. Our stomach and digestive system can feel so basic and yet it is vastly complex, and so many things can cause it to get out of sinc. Your doctors will get this resolved. Meanwhile, try to relax and not let your imagination cause you stress. Think happy thoughts. When our mind relaxes, it sends signals to the rest of the body.

Oh no! Well I’m glad it wasn’t more serious, even though that does sound pretty bad.

If you don’t mind me asking how was that opening blocked, with what?

It was food, a small cluster at the connection point to the intestines, the liquids seeping slowly through the stomach holding
up food I had eaten not being able to enter the stomach getting trapped at the opening. So that fresh food was stuck in the opening.

I am so glad the issue never developed into something more serious. Well done to you for going to the ER when you did.

Sorry you've had to go through this, and sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery. As others have said, be glad they caught it quickly. Please, please, please be thankful it was corrected.

My father had severe stomach pains right before Thanksgiving 2000. We took him to the ER, they did a sonogram and found nothing. The ER doctor released him, saying "try not to work out as hard". When we got him home, he started throwing up and couldn't hold down any food. We couldn't take him to a specialist due to the holiday. He passed away that Sunday due to a twisted bowel that could have been corrected. I won't go into all the details of how we found him laying on the floor outside the bathroom, but suffice to say it must have been one of the most painful deaths anyone could endure.

It's so hard to get doctors to accept your version of what you are feeling or the steps your body was taking to get to where
you are, so sorry to hear the events of your Dad. I wouldn't allow the doctors to tell me how I felt and how I got to that point.

Hope you get well soon. Since people seem to be relating stomach issue problems. My mother had extreme pain in her stomach, her doctor got her into the hospital immediately. Three weeks after, she had passed away. She head stomach cancer. She was 80 years old.

No sign of cancer Thank the Lord, and they tested and checked things I didn't even realize they had.

I have been complaining about all sorts of things today. The water is turned off in the ki8tchen. Two unproductive trips to Home Depot. Nothing compares to your difficulties. i wish you the best. You have a fan club here on SF.
