Approaching a Lower Income Retirement. What's your story?

I am poor so all I'd do is the employer 401k match and put the rest into a taxable investment account. I would never be earning more than 450k per year or $553k to ever pay any taxes on that amount. The poor think they need to use Roths or Traditional 401k's IRA's when these taxable accounts are...

Approaching a Lower Income Retirement. What's your story?

Great advice, thank you. We buy Wild Alaskan Salmon when on Sale but otherwise, buy 1/2 a cow from a farmer who lives 30 min away. We see his cows are grass fed. The bolded above seem to make life much easier not wanting to buy much if you do not need it. You are content with living with overall...

Approaching a Lower Income Retirement. What's your story?

@HoneyNut Yes, chickens are a lot of work but they made us so happy. Leghorns r great! Our 2 we were good layers too. Good idea. My favorite are the escape artists, the Barred Rocks. Our 2 would fly out of the fence with all other 15 chickens following suit. Cops at the corner gas station asked...

PG&E caused a fire right near our house once. Our plan is a Metal roof and to have endless water somehow via a spring or pond.

If they bring back covid restrictions will you comply this time around?

Great Points. Masks are use-less. I believe that's been proven. I will shop later at night, probably try to avoid groups but overall, I've done that for years anyhow. I probably will not mask up unless at a Doctors office and wash my hands more

What is your after retirement plan?

I agree, people who stay busy certainly are happier. Even if they remain at a p/t job they enjoy. I think depression can easily set in realizing the runway is much shorter and health issues creep in.
