What are you listening to in 2026 ?

Chicago was a great band, but they really should have hired a lyricist. Their songs had some of the most inane lyrics of any popular band. That's their song Beginnings.

    School principal tackles school shooter

There's still no information about why Victor Lee Hawkins had a "beef" with the school principle or what his home life was like. Apparently, Victor was living with his father, but there is no mention of his mother. Was it a dysfunctional family? Divorce?

Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Is that on Netflix? I couldn't find it there.

Has Anyone Participated In A Sleep Study (Or Know Someone Who Has)?

I've done several sleep studies. When I had Kaiser Permanente insurance, they sent me home with a sleep monitor system and I did it in my own bed. @OneEyedDiva, maybe you should ask if something like that is available through your provider.

What is your pet peeve or what are some of them?

My pet peeve of the day is the timing of phone calls I get. I didn't get any phone calls today -- not one -- until I lay down to take a nap. 20 minutes into my nap, I get a spam call. About 10 minutes later, I get another call, which was my wife, so I had to take that one. It just seems to...

I saw BOC around this this time. It might have been in '77. I remember the drummer put on a Godzilla head and played wearing it. That memory may be tainted by my altered state of consciousness at the concert or by my current age and its associated memory deterioration, though.

    Memphis has dramatic crime drop

The "Pandemic Spike" (2020–2023): Between 2019 and 2020, homicides jumped nearly 75%, a trend that continued until peaking in 2023. This was attributed to pandemic-era social disruptions and changes in state gun laws. Permitless Carry ("Constitutional Carry"): Effective July 1, 2021, most...

    Earth Day - April 22nd

I took Max to the park today for Earth Day and we watched ducks swimming around the lake. It was relaxing. :)

Protecting our minds in a bad news world

It's always the same... one bad news story after another. Here's the ABC World News lineup from this evening... Wildfires force evacuations, destroy homes in Georgia and Florida Red flag (critical fire weather conditions) warnings across the High Plains and Southwest Iranian state TV airs...

I am an Atheist and always have been.

No war has ever been started in the name of science. The same can't be said for religion.

On day 10 of the Iranian revolution, the Ayatollah has fled

It's spelled "strait" -- not "straight." It can't be "straight" since it has a big curve. If it was, it would be a curved straight, which doesn't make sense.

Petroleum infuses a multitude of everyday items the Iran war could make more expensive

If only the people responsible had to sacrifice like the rest of us, we'd have far fewer wars!

UK bans sale of cigarettes to future generations.

What gets me is all the characters that smoke in movies. A lot of them are smoking in every single scene. WTF? Why do they feel the need to do that? People don't smoke that much any more in real life. I could see it if they're depicting a different time, like the '70s when a lot of people...
