I guess I'm in the minority. I will listen, while on a stair climber at the gym, to more 'complex' music such as Stravinsky "The Rite of Spring". That kind of music cuts the boredom of 45 minutes climbing stairs, at least, for me.
I'm happy that we live in a 26,000 person town with more than enough businesses. On one hand, we talked about living in a more rural area years ago and how nice that might have been. But to have every business we need within a mile or two has proven to be wonderful.
Always been a planner. Travel and hiking as long as possible is a priority. Wife and I work out a couple of hours a day plus walking and endless yard work on a few acres along with diet trying to continue doing mountain hiking at least until age 80.
Plan is to do a '180' and get an apartment...
I've had 4 (every 5 years) and will have a fifth in another year. I have had the anesthesia where I'm told I am fully awake for the procedure but don't recall anything. Never had any side effects and good to go (no pun intended) right after. It's the prepping that is more of an inconvenience...
A complaint running up and down DW's and my family. Nieces/nephews all want houses but are unaffordable or they are really stretching the budget to hold onto them. A house my parents bought in 1955 that cost about $15000 at the time (small bungalow) is going for $350,000 now mainly due to location.
We have lived in our one-and-only house for 45 years. It's in Chicago area which is definitely not our first-choice area. But 90% of our family members live within 90 minutes which is why we stay. We'll be going to an apartment, but it will still be in the area.
