    Weatherman Beaten

Hah! It reminds me of when I lived in LA they used to say that BMW stands for "break my window".

    Weatherman Beaten

Wow. When I read your subject line, I had a flashback to the late 60s, and thought the pigs had raided the Weather Underground crash pad in Ann Arbor.

    Can Your Food Touch?

I don't care if it touches, more concerned that there's enough. Too, I do not believe in taking comestible prisoners, except at a restaurant where I have no control over portion and can request a take-home box. A plate with food left on it invites the curse of bad ju-ju.

What is your understanding of the term "gaslighting"?

You're not gaslighting me, J. It's for the hypothetical gaslighter. :)

EDIT: By god, this reminds me: if I edit for correction/addition, from this point forward I need to note this publicly...

What is your understanding of the term "gaslighting"?

It brings not only a negative response from me, but often a punitive one, as well. I mean, clearly gaslighting is *malicious* in intent: it's not a mistake or a misunderstand--although they'll try to wriggle off with those as excuses. They *know* that I have first-hand experience of X, and to...

How long, and under what conditions, do you think SS will last?

You aren't looking for some kind of fairness, I hope, because all that will matter is which voting block is larger: SS recipients or those paying SS taxes and possibly with a student loan.

General racial relations: 70s compared to present

Yes, that was why they used it in the series, I figured...it carried a load with it. Not only was it funny on the surface (my wife is real bossy) but then falsely elevated her to the level of a glamourous immortal being. The overstatement is pretty comic...

What is your understanding of the term "gaslighting"?

I'm sorry to hear that. My folks actually believed that I knew what I was talking about, and that I wouldn't lie to them. This was probably rooted in cultural traditions, where no one thought that family members would lie to each other. And so therefore they mostly didn't, and this created a...

General racial relations: 70s compared to present

There was that BBC series some years ago where the middle-aged male lead referred to his wife as "She Who Must Be Obeyed".

What is your understanding of the term "gaslighting"?

Technically, I'd disagree because you did not see it firsthand, but got the info from sources claiming knowledge, who themselves did not see it firsthand. You never did know what actually happened. Everything was a leap of faith when you choose to believe something without direct knowledge of...
