Fortunately I still live in a relatively safe area so I do go out at night if I want..

However just this week... An Eastern European in this country who had fooled the authorities into thinking he was a child refugee, who they have now discovered is at least 21, and with a 20 year sentence for murder in his own country which he dodged and escaped to the UK.. murdered one guy on the South coast.. after one went to help his friend from being bullied by the Illegal guy... They were totally innocent fellas, one was an aspiring Marine..out for an evening, when this lunatic approached them , and when one of the guys stepped into stop the guy arguing with his friend he was killed.. :mad:


Another story just today... in Kent, ( Opposite side of London to me ) today.. a woman has been arrested after a Man in his 60's was found dead in the supermarket car park this morning , believed to have been killed for his Mobility Scooter... :mad:

We live across the bay from San Francisco. There are parts of the city where I would not park a car. God help the tourist who leaves a package visible on the back seat, or any seat for that matter. A parking garage near where I once lived has had the top floor taken over by tents. The city naively installed colorful toilet closets in the downtown. Had to remove them when they became living quarters or a convenient spot to sell drugs. Yuk!
 
He shouldn't have been on a subway alone at 1:15 in the morning. What was he trying to prove? Then again, coming from a bar with a few drinks in him, he probably felt invincible.

So people can't travel on public transport alone for fear they will be killed ? How was he trying to prove something?.. young people do go out late at night and come home late.. and kudos to him for not attempting to drive if he'd been drinking ..

It reminds me of when I lived in LA they used to say that BMW stands for "break my window".

No but another more insidious story. Up to 1 in 4 of 600 child refugees.. housed in a hotel in Brighton have reported to have been kidnapped.

The media are saying that these kids have been kidnapped by child traffickers..

Dozens of asylum-seeking children have been kidnapped by gangs from a Brighton hotel run by the Home Office in a pattern apparently being repeated across the south coast, an Observer investigation can reveal.

A whistleblower, who works for Home Office contractor Mitie, and child protection sources describe children being abducted off the street outside the hotel and bundled into cars.


“Children are literally being picked up from outside the building, disappearing and not being found. They’re being taken from the street by traffickers,” said the source.

It has also emerged that the Home Office was warned repeatedly by police that the vulnerable occupants of the hotel – asylum-seeking children who had recently arrived in the UK without parents or carers – would be targeted by criminal networks.

About 600 unaccompanied children have passed through the Sussex hotel in the past 18 months, with 136 reported missing. More than half of these – 79 – remain unaccounted for.

The shadow home secretary, Yvette Cooper, described the revelation as “truly appalling and scandalous” and called on the government to reveal how many children had disappeared and what was being done to find them.

This is what happens when you elect a DA who lets criminals out with no bail. As far as I know, the police know who these criminals are, but no charges will be brought because they’re juveniles. In other words, they are free to go and do it again. So sad. I used to go with Dave on a business trip to NYC once a year. Loved the museums and the shows. I felt safe. Wouldn’t want to go now. So sad.
 
This kind of apathy by the authorities is what results in anarchy and/or vigilante justice. This was a deadly felony assault and should be treated as such, including the trial of near adult juveniles as adults. I wouldn’t go within 100 miles of this place!
 
Is the one where he not only was assaulted wolf pack style but those teens tried to light the other victim's hair on fire.

Juveniles or not they are a danger to the public. Certain acts are adult no matter how it's framed, excused, rationalized etc and they should be treated to adult consequences including incarceration.

I agree Tish.. much as we don't have the infrastructure or space to house all these Minors, so our Govt had no right taking them in, in the first place ... the Govt apparently are showing little interest in discovering who is behind these kidnaps... much less look for these children..
