ESPRESSO
Angelo Moriondo Angelo-moriondo-portrait-espresso-machine-inventor.jpg

In 1884, Angelo Moriondo from Turin, Italy, patented what is considered probably the very first bar machine that controlled a supply of steam and water, separately, through coffee grounds.

Luiggi Bezzera from Milan devised and patented several improvements to the espresso machine, the first of which was applied for patent in 1901, with that being granted in 1902.

The average working class family made $40.00/week in 1947 which made the cost of food 30% of your weekly income. So I did the same calculation using my SS income versus what I spend for food a month and it's still 30%. However I'm only feeding myself ( a widow) and my son lives with me. We had to sell the twins and the cat.

I don't spend anywhere near 30% of DH & my SS on food for the two of us and our dog. 10% would be a lot closer to the mark.
