I missed it this morning, I forgot and went shopping!

This parade always amazes and amuses me, precision
marching, you never see anywhere else.

If you too like Pomp & Ceremony, you might get it on
your own TV stations in the catch-up service.

Mike.

Prince William this morning....

The King wears a bearskin hat during the Trooping the Colour ceremony as part of the ceremonial uniform of the British Army's Foot Guards. This tradition dates back to the Napoleonic Wars, where the hats were used to make soldiers appear taller and more intimidating. Today, it's a symbol of the British Army and a key part of the historic pageantry surrounding the event.

The King was wearing a normal peaked cap,
Princes William and Edward were wearing
Bearskins, they ere both dressed as Colonels
of Guards Regiments, as was Princess Anne.

correct, I hadn't spotted that... It's Prince William, & Prince Edward who are wearing the Bearskins

Trooping the Colour is like the world's most well-dressed traffic jam, except instead of honking horns, you’ve got military bands, horses, and a king who gets a birthday parade every year regardless of his actual birthday. Now that’s commitment.

Some might say it’s the only time you’ll see 1,400 people in perfect formation, unless you're standing outside a London pub when football's on.

And let’s not forget the Royal Family on the balcony, waving like they're auditioning for a part-time job as very polite mannered ceiling fans.

Also, shout out to the horses, who manage to stay composed through drums, cannons, and flypasts, better nerves than most people.

Love it :)

Wot no Harry??

Wot no Harry??

Ah yes, Wot, no Harry? indeed !!!

Prince Harry has become the Where’s Waldo of royal events. Everyone’s scanning the balcony like:
"There's Charles ... there's Camilla ... Will and Kate, check ... Louis pulling faces ... but where's the ginger prince ??"

Since stepping back from royal duties aka pulling the royal ejector seat in 2020, Harry’s appearances at events like Trooping the Colour have been rare, and when he does show up, he’s usually not on the balcony, which is reserved for “working royals” only. So unless he sneaks in disguised as a guardsman or one of the drummers, it’s "Wot no Harry" yet again.

Though let's be honest, if he did show up, the Daily Mail would spontaneously combust.

I hear he does turn up for court cases against the newspapers though?

He only comes to go to court, as you have noted, his
latest, was suing the "Home Office", for removing his
"Royal Protection", detail, when he gave up doing any
Royal Duties.

He says that he is afraid for his life, if he comes to the
UK with no protection being provided, his private ones
cannot carry guns here.

Yet, he went to Columbia on holiday, I thought that it
was a very dangerous place!

He was well liked here until he upset the Queen, then
most people went off him, he is not a nice person as
we have found out.

Mike.
