So many music posts, very few dealing with the 50s music scene

I See The Moon by the Stargazers.

There are several versions of this, I've chosen this particular one because it topped the UK charts in 1954 therefore most likely to be the version that I heard. My mam used to sing this to me and I sang it to my grandkids, got a video somewhere of my grandson singing it.

Great song! As you remember it was a hit in 1954, and when it was included in the film Blackboard Jungle (1955) with Glenn Ford, it really became a symbol for the rebellious youth of the 1950s. Plus it was a great jitterbug song...;)

I swear, back in the day, everyone seemed to have a copy of this album somewhere in the house:

@VaughanJB - this is the version I was given and still have, somewhere in the loft! One of my dad's work colleagues gave it to me when I was in my early teens and at the time I thought it was a bit 'old fashioned' as this was the early 1960s. However, I did play it occasionally and was glad I kept hold of it.

Still good to dance to.
Good stuff! We played a couple of gigs with Berry back in the later '60s. He got to where he rarely traveled with a band. He'd just use guys from other bands on the program because everyone knew his music. So Berry was able to keep all the money for himself..:)

One time we played a gig with him in Milwaukee. He didn't even bring a guitar with him! He used one from the leader of our band. I think the guy saved every penny he ever earned...😄
