With a refrigerator, do you prefer a bottom freezer, top freezer, or side by side?

side by side on both our refrigerator/freezers. Don't want to bend over to unstack whatever is on top of what is needed . Same goes for top don't want to unstack whatever to get to what is needed.

Side by side we can organize frozen whatever on the shelves. Works especially good with vacuum sealing since most often sealing will leave whatever flatten.

I paid someone to work on my refrigerator that has the freezer on top. It was cooling fine, but there was an occasional drip of water coming from the freezing compartment into the refrigerator section. The work temporarily stopped the drip, but it has returned. If I end up having to replace it, I will look for a side by side or freezer on the bottom.

I believe it is more energy efficient to put the freezer on the bottom.
I just read that it’s the opposite. When the freezer is on the top, it helps cool the fridge.

I’ll never have another French door fridge again. What a pain. Open one side, what you want is on the other.

The other thing I’ll never have is a water dispenser or ice maker. These are the two most common items to have problems.

Sounds like a clogged or frozen defrost drain line. Im surprised your guy didnt know this.
There are YouTube videos on how to unclog it with warm water and a turkey baster.
If he had the door open for a while it probably melted some and thats why it worked.

Or. You can just unplug it for a day or two and leave the door open. It will melt and drain. I looked at the videos and decided this was easier. Truthfully I dont like to take things apart. Sometimes you cant get them back together. :D
I have two refrigerators so I just relocated for a minute.

And I prefer top freezers. No ice maker. No water in the door. :D

I'm pretty much stuck with a bottom freezer. Our house came with a huge built-in refrigerator and I recently had to replace it. Only a couple of models fit the space and they both come with a bottom freezer. However, the freezer has an extra drawer in it and holds loads of food.
