Powerball is up to $1.7 billion.

Wow, according to a source cited in this article (MSN) the average adult (American, I assume) spends $400/year on lottery games, and in Massachusetts the average is $900. 😦

That said, I bought 4 tickets for tonight's Powerball drawing, but only because in my state you can buy them online and I had about $12 left in my account. I almost never buy lottery tickets. I don't believe in them, and I don't have a lot of money to spend on things like that (i.e., gambling). But heck—the thought of more than $1 billion is kinda enticing, ha ha. 🤑

Wow... I'd never have guess people spend that much. Guess that's how the jackpots get so high.

I daresay I've never spent even $50/year on lottery tix because I only buy them when the jackpot skyrockets near the billion mark. This year, I've spent a total of $18 on lottery tickets - even forgot to buy some yesterday. There were two big winners - one in Texas, one in Missouri. I wish them well.
