...unless, of course, it a hungry bear! Now I eat no meat and have no problem looking into the eyes of a animal.
I have actually had 3 up close and personal experiences with adult bears. One was a sow with 2 that springs cubs and one was a apprx 3 yr old on the circular deck of a house and the other was in a field along a fence line....unless, of course, it a hungry bear!
When I was a kid we raised rabbits and chickens, and we ate a lot of both. We were poor as church mice, so most of our protean came from both. After I was married I would from time to time buy rabbit, and fry it up,But fact was it was more expensive that most other meats so I didn't buy it often. The strangest meat I ever saw at the grocery, and only once, was frozen rabbit. And really, that's not so strange, except that I don't know anyone who eats it. (Probably except for hunters.)
I'm with you.. oh that stuff it's like lumpy wallpaper paste..horrible...The one thing I simply couldn't eat was the instant oatmeal that comes in a cup. I picked apple and cranberry, stuff I normally eat, followed the directions on the package to the letter. I knew it would be sweet, figured I've eaten a lot worse things, I could make it through a cup of that stuff-- no, literally no. I could not even force myself to have a second bite, at least I was able to keep the first taste down.
oh we ate the winkles too.. We only got them when we visited our granny, where a Fish seller came around on a horse and cart, and we'd get a little poke of winkles and a pin...When I was young we ate winkles on a Saturday night, strange the things that come to mind. Getting it out of the shell, taking off the eye and pricking it with a pin to eat, I could, would not do that now. I have never seen them for sale here.
