As a boy, I mostly drank from creeks so I used the cupped hand also. Still do, mostly.I got by using a cupped hand.hand.

I hope your toothbrushes in the cup are either in the medicine cabinet or that you close the lid on your toilet before flushing! Germs from your toilet, including fecal bacteria, can spray out over 6 feet. One of the first things I learned after accepting Islam decades ago is that we must close the lid before flushing because of what's mentioned above. This is so when we make our ritual washing before prayer, usually done in the bathroom, it is in a relatively clean space. And of course, for health reasons as well. At that time, we also began keeping our toothbrushes in the medicine cabinet anyway.That's for disposable cups? Never seen that. We just had and still have this:
