Greatest Alpine Ski Racer of All Time

Do all women that win ski titles look like knock outs, or is it just the ski outfits that do that to women?

I'm still a huge fan of Jean-Claude Killy. What a daredevil racer he was!
About 60 years ago, I saw him in Chicago at some kind of ski show with advertisers and what not. He was on a small island stage talking to a crowd and answering questions. A woman in the crowd who was dressed to the nines asked him if he would like to go to a party after the show. He laughed it off and didn't respond, at least not at that time. He was the most important celebrity I had actually seen in person at that time of my life.

108th World Cup Victory!!!

"Mikaela Shiffrin delivered a dominant performance in the women’s slalom at Špindlerův Mlýn on January 25, 2026, securing her 108th World Cup victory and clinching her ninth consecutive slalom Crystal Globe—a record for any skier, male or female.

In the first run, Shiffrin posted a time of 48.80 seconds, building a commanding lead of 1.26 seconds over Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener and 1.47 seconds over Germany’s Emma Aicher. Her performance was described as “impossible to beat” and “a race apart,” with all competitors significantly behind.

She went on to win the race, finishing 1.67 seconds ahead of Holdener, with Emma Aicher taking third place—her third podium of the season. The result confirmed Shiffrin’s supremacy in the discipline, having won 7 out of 8 slaloms this season.

The event marked the final World Cup slalom before the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, where Shiffrin is the clear favorite."
