Technically, the conflict in Iran is not about religion, it's about the lack of personal freedom, growth, and autonomy that the current religion-based leadership imposes on the Iranian people, the leadership's rejection of all other religions, and the extreme cruelty it dishes out for non-compliance. The people reject their current government, and are attempting to overthrow it and replace with a democratic form of government.

Whatever religion a new government head aligns with does not matter to the Iranian people as long as the new form of government is democratic and includes separation of church and state.

Talks were cancelled. Iran's Islamic Regime does not want to talk. There will be no more talks.

Everyone knew negotiation was a waste of time anyway because the regime was never going to agree to the 4 demands - no nukes, no long-range missiles, no financing terrorist organizations, and no mistreatment of the Iranian people - and that they kept agreeing to talks, then pulled out of talks only to buy time to prepare their military for defense and possibly the preemptive attack on Israel they announced weeks ago.

So, the US done talking and ready to act.

I just happened to think; one of the options the US offered the Khomeini and his closest associates is safe passage to Moscow or Beijing or whatever...basically anyplace but the US, Canada, or Mexico...and I wonder if that's what this meeting will be about.

The IR flat-out rejected the other option several times, and they know the regime is doomed. It's crumbling from the inside, people are bailing left and right, and members of police and armed forces are officially defecting. Their loss of power is a forgone conclusion, and they know they don't stand a chance against the US military and its allies, so I wonder if they just want safe exile, no arrests and no trial at this point.

Sharia Law is archaic, and punishment for violating any of them is absolutely barbaric. There are a few punishments so extreme they are carried out in secrecy in remote or obscure places, and the accused is never seen again.

Just as barbaric are their "trials of justice." I saw one where a woman was accused of lying to her husband. To prove her innocence, she had to lick a metal rod that had been stuck in little fire pit until it glowed orange around the edges.

If it burned her tongue, she was a liar.

Thank you for the update, Frank. Strangely, the mainstream media has jack$hit about the 15 that are reportedly kidnapped.
As for the rats, I sincerely hope they all drown.
 
This is really strange.
I have been watching the map since 8.00 am this morning, and there is no traffic in Israeli airspace.
That's not the strange thing; the strange thing is that I can't find even one ElAl plane anywhere.
Very odd.

So, we negotiated negotiations, and promised we'd be in touch about a date to negotiate them further.

The IR viewed this as a Show of Strength. :ROFLMAO:

It's like they don't have a clue they're already finished. Cooked. And if they don't take that offer of safe passage, they'll be torn apart when the Iranian people find them. Literally, bodily, with bare hands and maybe some garden tools and kitchen utensils.

This, I believe is a religious war between the Jews and the Arabs and the rest of the world keep getting pulled into it - both other Arabs and non-Arabs - seemingly all started way back by Abraham and his Missus? - but you'd need to go back to Chapter One to get the opener?

You're right about the biblical / ancient history between the Arabs and Hebrews, however, what's happening in Iran today goes back to only the 1970s, when Iran, historically known as Persia and ruled by a king, became the Islamic Republic of Iran under the rule of an Islamic holy man, the Khomeini, in 1979.

The Iranian people respected all religions prior to 1979, and want a change in governance. They want to oust the current extreme Islamic regime and establish a democratic government under the temporary guidance of Prince Reza Pahlavi, son of their former king-in-exile, and an alliance with the Middle-East's Jewish state of Israel and the west's United States.

On a personal level, smiley...

My Irish-American father was raised a Catholic and my Portuguese-Italian mother was a Jew. When I was a child, I attended the Catholic church and my mother's synagogue. I've read the Bible, old and new, cover-to-cover, studied portions of the Torah under a Rabbi, and took history and ancient history courses in college.
