my new Yellow lens prescription distance specs, that I bought a few weeks ago..

How much did they cost? Whenever I have a car (I have large gaps between owning one), I try to avoid driving at night and in the rain. Very few road markings are distinct and everything seems to blend together in a black or gray mass. 😄

exactly that's why I had to get some. I've always loved driving in the dark, I learned to drive in the dark.... but lately the last few years I do everything to avoid going out in the dark for those very reasons...

My Gasses are prescription distance, and the cost to add the night driving lenses to them was an extra £40 on top of whatever price my glasses would ordinarily be.

In this instance because they are for night driving only... I bought just basic metal frames which were £25... then the lenses were £40 on top of that...

That's with online Opticians..

Afternoon peeps of SF.... 🙋‍♀️

Its coming up to 5pm now sun is starting to go down... when I say sun...I know there's one up there somewhere to go down.. but goodness knows when we'll see it...

I just got back from my Doctors appt... so that's one down another one to go...

Pleased you finally got out for a walk @moviequeen1 ...

Sorry to hear your mum has been in the wars @Trila ..just when you're recovering yourself.... how old is she ? ..I hope she's feeling better after her falls now that you've been with her... 🤗

Have the best day you can folks wherever you are... 🌷
My Mom will be 94 in April. She lives alone in the house that she and my Dad had build in the 1980's. She cooks, cleans, does laundry, and even drives!!!!

She is absolutely amazing!!!

She is in Chicago proper.
I was really hoping it was out further, like south-east of the city itself. Lake Shore Drive and the park there are always a
good place to be in public safely if she has need to get out and just walk. Always a lot of people out on a pretty day.
So there's that for you to think about. I lived in Forest Park and then Aurora/Naperville when I moved there for a job.

I need some!!!

I'll check out Zenni. I sure need night driving glasses!

UPDATE: I msg'd you a coupon code.

Wait for me to check today if I can give you a coupon code where we both can benefit. Not sure if they have night driving glasses (I haven't looked) but they do have various lens finishes. I have 7 pairs of glasses from them. They have frames starting at $6.95 and I have different colors frames. I've made 4 orders total over the last 2-3 years. They also don't require a recent prescription. You can use your old one. An optometrist told me that after 45, eyes have changed all they are going to. Vision generally remains the same after that.

Good morning Folks, Hope you are having a fine day I was feeling very good when I got up seeing all my pain sensors kicked in the pain that was in my left knee has transferred to my right shoulder, it figures right, Most of my pidley plans are out the window. It is sunny and 39 here now going into mid 50s later today. This talk to text deal is not exactly my cup of tea but I'm still trying, Everybody have a great day. :p :devilish:

Good morning to everyone. It is 65 degrees this morning and 74 this afternoon.

We do need rain and had a few drops yesterday, however this Sunday it is predicted to be thunder storms. It seems our weather does what it wants and not what is predicted.

@hollydolly it sounds like you are having a lot of rain. I hope all goes well for you in your medical checkups.

@hawkdon pain does have a way of transferring to other areas of one's body. I hope you feel better soon.

Stay well everyone and have a good day. :)

Am mulling over near term day planning today as I watch online on my desktop, some hour long each free MIT course neuroscience lectures. With TV sound off in my downstairs living room, have the live Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on 12 feet away.

Given California just finally received a modest storm with snow in mountains after 4 weeks of dry weather, I had loosely planned to drive 180 miles at dawn today for one day of skiing and then return home. A long boring drive that would be about 15 gallons of gas or $70 at current prices. But received shipment tracking information that an important $1000 lens I ordered is already on a FedEx truck out for delivery today that requires my signature.

With the storm now passed to the east, the sunny day air is cool and clear with landscapes freshly sparkling clean. And that includes what was my rather dirty white Trailblazer LS. Although I have a carport within my 4-plex condo, I purposely leave it outdoors for free rain cleaning. So during dry spells it does pick up quite a bit of dirt.

A much larger storm series moves in late Saturday for several days, so may instead pack up gear for a one day trip tomorrow or just wait till the next storm wanes for a more efficient multiday Tahoe trip with better fresh snow conditions. If so could tomorrow Friday, visit a local area just 60 miles away where wildflowers have begun rising to get some practical working experience with the new zoom lens. The fresh rain will provide a nice boost for the flowers. Saturday is looking maybe like a some afternoon live music over 11 hours where a venue for our 2026 Valentines Day, "Happy Love Day", with 12 groups playing a wide range of music.

My past four dogs were full-time entertainment, but my present two pups still manage to make me laugh.
My 17 m/o Rex loves to protect his sweetheart Heidi by standing over her, and she in turn snuggles on to him.

Now Rex is stealing Heidi's leather bone (how mean) that I take away from him to give it back to Heidi, the rightful owner.
In turn Rex very gently bites my nose, but it still hurts a little bit. Well, these are games that keep us busy and entertained.

Despite we just had a decent rainfall, only the top of the mountains got snow. The whole Western US suffers from snow deficiency.

Found the paperwork for our rental property.
Noticed that has a form for taxes on it??
Something new or have I been missing it when doing taxes?

I ' hate' doing math!!

Feel like taking ALL papers to the accountant......."here earn your fee!"
I feel your pain, @Sliverfox ... it's worth what ever I have to pay to have my taxes done by my accountant... I tried to do my own one year. I put *one* amount on the wrong line and I got mail from the government-- "You have to fill out these form for farm subsidies!!" o.0 Say what? Closest I get to a farm is cutting down a Christmas tree! lol.

This evening, over the last couple weeks, caught a second large cockroach in my condo on a glue trap. Over several decades, have never had any insect infestations except for an occasional silverfish and small spiders. Definitely no ants or roaches. Once a roach lays eggs in a room, eradication can become difficult as one big one can lay thousands of eggs. One will need to be very careful with all kitchen and cupboard food stuffs and crumbs that I find a major nuisance dealing with.

There is a small space beneath my front door where they probably enter so often place powdered bleach there. Tonight went over to a nearby Home Depot and bought 8 sticky glue traps and a couple baited roach traps placing 3 in my downstairs kitchen and one beside my front door. I do like these glue traps as they will cause any floor creeping bugs to become stuck.

I hate them. I call them "Walkers" after the creatures on Walking Dead. Their fate is the same.

At the Jazz Club, earlier this week, a text came through to my wife's phone about a gig that's happening tomorrow. It will be a poignant concert, many friends there. The band are known as The Fifinellas, they have renamed themselves. Back prior to 2024, they were known as Annie & The Midnight Shift. In that year, 2024, Annie, (Mrs. Filler) mother of three fine sons, a wonderful singer and friend to all, succumbed to cancer.

Annie had a funeral featuring a New Orleans-style parade, characterised by a band, dancing, and the waving of colourful umbrellas. She specifically instructed her husband that it be a happy, celebratory event rather than a sad one. It was certainly that, but it didn't stop the tears.

A band led the procession with Miss Annie carried behind, with attendees following and dancing.
It was requested to be a "happy parade" with no crying, just dancing and smiles.
After the parade, she was to be placed back on a military vehicle.
Following the procession, a private cremation was scheduled for immediate family.
The event included a celebration of life, often referred to as a "Second Line" or Jazz funeral style, focusing on joy rather than mourning.

All being well with my lady's recovery, we shall be there, and I am sure, so will Annie. We all love and miss you dear lady.

Morning all, went out on my early walk at 6:50, to the signal light and back temp was 20 with a slight breeze
My plans today, go to weekly exercise class at 10-10:45, missed it last week. The rest of my day read today's NYT, see what lunch& dinner menu is offering plan to go out for afternoon walk.
The temps will be warmer today in mid 30's
Everybody have a good day

I was out in the woods, clipping vines all afternoon, yesterday. The pesky things will completely take over (they already have!), if you don't keep cutting them. It's very tiring work, so I've did nothing else once I was in for the day.

Tomorrow is a rain day, so no skating for this gal. But I'm OK with that. We really could use the rain. I just don't want excessive amounts, like last year!!!

emoticon

Maybe go to the gym?

Good morning to everyone. It is cooler this morning 50 degrees but it will be 78 this afternoon. We need rain and there is a burn ban in our county. Sunday we are supposed to get some rain.

My husband hurt his arm last night and it was bleeding. I put bandages on it but it was late and I was late getting to bed.

I had a Walmart delivery at 8:00 and I will get an Amazon delivery today at some time.

I hope you all stay well and have a good day. :)
